Colgan Growth.

Heard this from a good source: Within the next three months Colgan Air will be buying 12 DHC-8-300's to operate out of JFK as Delta Connection to begin service before 2007. This was sopposed to be Mesa's or excuse me, Freedom Air's territory but due to their "failure to preform" Colgan was selected as the next operator. Outstation basing likely and hiring to begin in full swing within 1 month to staff the Dashs. No street CA's look for upgrade on the Saab side to drop back down to 13-15 months at most. Contract length is atleast 7 years. Good news!

call it luck, fate, divine intervention, or a change, but the 2 saab's that i've flown over the last 4 days were clean, not even anything DMI'd. We got ramped last friday and the fed said the same thing. He had checked 3 saabs and they were all clean.............quiet before the storm, or they hired someone that wasn't still wet out of spartan


to the guy that asked about outstation basing.........

its when the planes and the crew are based somewhere other than the hub. IF the hub was JFK in this case, the outstations would be the destinations flown out of JFK, like SYR or buffalo, or wherever this flying will go.

I just called the DO of Delta because I interned for him and he said that is a bunch of crap and no where near true he didnt even know who Colgan was.

A third airframe on the property? They can hardly keep up with what's in their hands right now- even on a good day. I think a few more Saabs are coming shortly, mostly to spread out so there are.....drum roll.....a spare plane or two. I'll believe anything when I see it.
