I've noticed this also and I work there. When I was at the training center a few months ago I saw a new-hire class and could have sworn they were all clones from the same embryo. Maybe since a female runs the HR department she only hires "her type." That's just my theory.FrontierFan said:The funny thing was that they all looked the same. I heard from CHQ mgmt. that our fifth code (yes, we now have five as announced by the company) is Continental. So now that we are going to be competing against you, what is the difference between Coex and CHQ?
Just trying to stay within the topic of the thread..I love working for a contract carrier. I can smell the seniority building!
CHQ certainly had their own challenges during their contact negotiations process. I, more than anyone, can understand that. What I can't understand are comments such as yours above when you clearly have absolutely zero understanding not only of the economics behind our deal but also of not only the work rules in our current agreement but also in our new ones. You are as bad as the morons from my company who ridiculed you for sigining your TA. Our scale is not as high as we'd have liked, but it is higher than yours, and the other areas of the TA make our working conditions and economics far superior to yours. Does that make us better? No. It all boils down to leverage - a concept I have struggled to try to present to some of our own pilots. Clearly you guys were fighting a battle that we didn't have to fight. Keep your head high, be a professional, and keep your "I upgraded in year 2 so who's the better company now" banter to yourself because some of us know what it is like to be a 2nd year captain and then a 5th year FO.FrontierFan said:Ok....
Just trying to answer a question and wonder why you are getting ready to settle for another sh1t a$$ contract that I had to hear about for the last two years. Ever since all the CHQ "sold out" chatter started I could not wait to see what Coex was going to get for all of their talk and now hear it is...a spitting image of CHQ's pay scale.
Thanks Jump. I'm still trying to figure out what "smelloing" is above. Not sure how those typos made it through my post!jumppilot said:Neal,
I deleted my post after realizing you are right.
I'm tired of all these XJet (actually, the same five) people spouting about how CHQ's contract brings down the industry and how XJet is here to save the day.
As for revealing my source, I'd rather not until the ink is signed, as you are right, this industry has a funny way of turning around...We'll see if I'm right come 2005.
Remember, HOU is NOT the same as IAH. This is especially important when programming an FMS. Equally important, not encouraging the flaming new COEX gate agents by the IAH Holiday Inn pool to bring over their fat, drunk, horny female co-workers.I just came from CHQ and I tell you what. We used to run into a whole lot of disgruntled CoEx guys. After hearing their stories I could understand. One of my last trips had me in HOU and in the same hotel as all the CoEx new guys. The funny thing was that they all looked the same. Early twenties, perfectly parted hair and all kinds of stories about “how coming from instructing to this job was going to be great.”
