Gulfscab has no idea what a joke is and wants to show everyone how smart he is. Like paying gobs of money to get 250hrs SIC in a 1900. Gulfscab, just to let you know, Turbo has been here for awhile and is respected on this board. Maybe Gulfscab is just MBA under a different name! Now, go pay another 50k to not get a job.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhsh

Crunch.

Thud.

(Sounds that may have been heard by any nearby witnesses)

Helluva way to go.

No THAT is smart. That time will prove to be invaluable down the road.

Jihad, Jihad!!

AY AY AY AY AY AY AY AY!!

There has been an attempted hijacking of a seemingly innocent thread.

CAN'T THERE BE ONE THREAD THAT DOESN'T HAVE TO TURN INTO A PFT FIGHT?????????????

I Suck.

ScabStream4Ever,

You seem to be the only person that doesn't get it. Explosive decompression was a joke, making fun of how the media will buy just about everything you say about aviation without checking into the facts first.

Though I don't know about you, but my 152 is pressurived, that way I can have a cabin alitude to 0ft as I am crusing along at the 152 service celieng of 3,000ft. ;)

sdpilot,

I love this part: "I glanced down at the airspeed indicator...MY GOD!!!, we were doing over 120kts!!!!! At this speed I knew she wouldn't hold together much longer."

Its sounds like a huricane coming down at 120kts in the cabin.

Well, I HAVE worked with my local media and I find them to be well informed and up to speed on aviation lingo.

Hahaha!!! I was intreviewed by the media at Sun n Fun a while back, the lady kept trying to steer me to say that aviation was dangerous and GA pilots routinely made mistakes such flying beyond the limits of the aircraft.

Me being a faithful EAA member, and a follower of the AOPA cause, I always rebutted with something to the point of "My drive here this morning was more dangerous than my flight here yesterday." Obviously since I didn't go with the story that they were writing I wasn't shown, instead they showed a sap that gave in just enough that they could make it run.

Now as far as lingo, of course they know it, but that doesn't mean that they know the true facts and how to put them into prespective. I routinely deal with the media as a photographer, 90% don't have a clue what they are talking about when the quote the numbers.

Ohhhhh Jeeeezzzz Guys, You're not getting it. Mr. Gulfstream is yanking your chain, baiting your flames, whatever.

Of course he knows that turboS7 was joking about the 152 being pressurized. He's yanking your chains by pretending to "correct" him, trying to see how many people he can sucker in. Apparently quite a few.

Go back and read his posts, they're obviously not serious.

I especially like the one about the media being "well informed and up to speed on aviation lingo"

I picture Gulfstream sitting in a crash pad someplace with too much time on his hands saying to his buddies hey let's see how stirred up I can get folks ..... ummm lesseeee I'll pretend to be a former Gulfstreamer, yeah that's it, a former gulfstreamer with 500 TT they'll get them going ... then I'll pretend I think the media is really knowledgeable about aviation, let's see how many will fall for it.

Sorry guys, you've been had, and somewhere "gulfstream" is peeing in his pants he's laughing so hard.

regards

Of course we know he's full of it, and he know's we know.. We're all sitting at home/work on a Wednesday afternoon and bored out of our minds..

This is fun

Well, I thought Gizstream was hilarious, no way somebody could be that stupid!

Then again............??????????

Yeah, I knewt Metro was playing along, and I suspected that you were too, but I think that some of the other posters are just a little too earnest.

Co-Pilot Plunges From Plane

I have been licenced since 06/22 of this year, i mention this to back-up my claim that i don't know all there is to know about aviation. with that said i don't understand how anyone who has ever done steep turns could entertain the thought that this person fell out of the plane? steep turns cause the occupants of the plane to be pushed into the seat not against the either door of the aircraft. this man did not accidentally fall from this plane.

also, at 9000 feet doing steep turns! makes you wonder doesn't it? he was definately pushed out of the plane--the only question that remains is -who pushed him? he either "pushed" himself or had help.

"Amazing" Amen brother

we need more training ie.. blimp

we could all benefit from the rigorous training that blimp pilots are subjected to.

So, does he get to log the flight back as "Dual instruction given?"

If so, what would he put in the "remarks" section?

A classic example of why Instructors should always get the students car keys PRIOR to the flight.

Heard the CFI was pretty shook up. He gained 500 feet during the turn after the CG shift.

Love this thread and was bored.....

So let's do some sleuthing.

What if our NASA scientist and potential thief was also a pretty smart cookie? (Even to plotting a suicide.)

Is there some maneuver that you as CFI would want to be at 9,000ft, that would cause the airplane to be extremely slow and turning to the left AND would get you in trouble with the FAA if you weren't doing it under special conditions?

Yep, what about a student asking for a spin demonstration? Now we're not supposed to take just anybody up in a C-152 and do spins unless we're sitting on parachutes or are doing this for a CFI rating but if you're a spin lover like me, ya sorta waive a little bit of that ruling, right?

I don't do them in this condition unless I have 6,000ft agl under the nose. If you want a clean one right off the bat, you do it to the left otherwise you get that prop buffet from the C-152. And man are you going slow just before the stall!

Can you open the door now with an inside turn at 35 kts? Think the pilot is just a little distracted setting up this spin? I can see me now explaining: "So you see we pull it up into a stall, there's the horn and just as she wants to break, we kick in left rudder and....hey, where'd he go....recover!"

When you get down on the ground and start talking to authorities what are you going to tell them about your manuever? Oh, I was teaching spins to a non-CFI candidate without parachutes. No. Oh, I thought he was going for his CFI and I was giving him an endorsement. No. Oh, we were just going up to a safe altitude to do steep turns. Ding Ding Ding, there's a winner.

Now the only question is was this suicide or did he have some kind of James Bond style mini-chute and is having tea with OBL or somebody else? The mind wanders.....I have got to get some sleep.

I wonder if the remaining pilot remembered to fill out a NASA report.

I would think that the FAA could potentially find him in violation of 91.15.

Just a thought....

:D

tarp, according to AOPA, the FAA has ruled that you can recieve the spin training any time leading up to your CFI, which means you can take it as a commerical pilot, as a private pilot, or even as a student pilot.

Metro, that's a stretch on the definition of "dropping" and object form the airplane.

I think your theory fell flat....

Ummm....I was kidding.

The guy who jumped out is what's flat. At least after he hit the ground

I hate to admit it, but this is the most funny thread I have EVER seen on this board. I didnt have the best day today, but this thread made me laugh quite a bit, although it is very sick humor.

My favorite post was Huck's about the guy becoming a sky diving fanatic. That was funny.

C152 Doors

We just aborted a take off the other day in a 152 when my instructor's door 'popped' open. I'm telling you... he got pretty nervous, because if he didn't have his seatbelt on, there would have been a good chance that he would have fallen out, because he was leaning on that door pretty hard (safety lesson for the day: leaning on a 152 door is not a good idea).

I heard he wanted to learn how to fly so he jumped out and started flapping his arms like a bird..

With the student gone, who is going to pay for this trip?
-------------------------------

Cynical. Calculating. Cheap. CYA.

I like that in a pilot.

At my old job, I would have been the one paying for it, I'll bet.
