Does anyone know the aircraft breakdown of the November 19th class. I just got an e-mail yesterday asking if I wanted to move up to this class from a later class, just wanted to know what I was getting into.

Nov 19?

My sheet doesn't have Nov 19th (Sun) as a class start, but maybe they added one in there somewhere. Looks like the Nov. 14 class has 8 737 EWR and 8 756 EWR in its breakdown. I think they skip a week for the Thanksgiving break and then have 8 737 EWR, 4 737 IAH and 4 756 EWR in the Nov. 28 class. I'm sure it's all subject to change. Good luck.

An earlier start is an opportunity to move up several seniority numbers before you ever even hit the line... Take the class, you'll be happy you did. Good luck.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS take the earlier class!!!!!

Definately taking it, already confirmed the earlier slot. I think they added an additional class, in the e-mail asking if I wanted the earlier class it said that they were planning on hiring an additional 50 pilots by the end of 2006. Great time to be getting hired. I'm assuming that it will be the standard mix of 737 and 756s.

Starting on Sunday? Maybe they aren't taking a Turkey day? Although, the first week would end on Wednesday leaving time for turkey. I hope they do add annother class! Take it.

Yes, during my initial job accptance e-mail for my November 28th class I mentioned that I would be turning my two-week notice in early and would be willing to take an earlier class date.

Quick question for Cal guys. If the age 60 rule is changed, does anyone know how it would effect the current hiring spree? In other words is this hiring mainly for growth or to cover upcoming retirements? Thanks

I got the same e-mail. I'll see you there.

Right now is for both growth and retirements. 480-ish by the end of May '07. Planning on another 350 following that. The Manpower planning guy told our class that he estimated they would cut hiring in half if age 60 goes thru but they did not expect it to immediately happen should it pass.

Yeah, I'm in for 19 Nov as well. Interesting to see "50 additional " new hires by the end of 06. My bud in class says there is no aircraft drop for the date. It must be an add on, considering it is a Sunday start date. Look forward to meeting you all.

Training guy I flew with the other day said that if passed, the age 60 rule won't be implemented until 2008. That would give one more year of good retirement rates.

Good news about 50 more hires. It's a great place to be. I moved 500 numbers in my first year, hopefully it will continue.

Welcome aboard.

Just curious about what the average pilot age of the CAL new hire clases has been??

Anyone get a pre-screen type call??
