There are a bunch of them, and the CS website has them all listed for your perusal. The website also states that you must live with 120 minutes of your domicile.

BOS, HPN, EWR, BWI, ATL, MCO, FLL, MIA, ORD, DFW, DEN, LAX, SFO, PHX, CVG, SAT, STL, BNA, MCI, IAD, SMF, LAS, IAH, CLE, GSO
CitationShares pilots must reside within 120 minutes of their Pilot Base.

I believe they MapQuest your address from the airport to see if it's within the 120 minute circle.

If you select a certain domicile, are you more likely to get one aircraft type vs. another? For example, if CJ1 shares are more popular on the East Coast and yet you select a West Coast domicile, would your chance of getting assigned the CJ1 be less?

By the way, I saw one of your CJ3s recently - a very nice looking aircraft. Any feedback from the guys who fly the CJ3?

I don't think your base has anything to do with what aircraft you are assigned to. The way I understand it, whatever aircraft needs filling at the time is what you get.

Guys that I've talked to love the CJ-3. The avionics are quite impressive on it. Performance is also good....they say it climbs similar to an XLS and cruises around .73.

After you are hired can you change domiciles
You can request for a base change and as long as your new residence is within 120 minutes of the domicile, it will be approved. The basing is only for airline purposes.

who says it will be approved? check your source before you jump.

People change their bases all the time. I based it on conversations with those who have and those who plan to. Is that a good enough source?

Not trying to hijack the thread, but how hard over is CS on the 200 hours in the last 12 months requirement? Thanks.

I even sent in a brief on my current flying and not even a response of resume. Goto Netjets - the currency thing isn't as big a deal.

Baja.

Are the bases assigned to you or do you get to pick? I ask because I'm moving to Greensboro in the future and it would be convenient as its one of their bases....

Also, do they have the age 60 retirement. Forgive my ignorance - I'm new to aviation...

Sincerely,
LA

They call you and ask you some basic questions like which domicile you would like. If mapquest shows you within 2 hours drive it is all yours

Hey Oleguy,

Looking at your aircraft flown, I'm going to guess you're a retired UsAirways pilot that started out at Piedmont??

You win the cupie doll! Except I will always be a Piedmont pilot and a retired USeless Air employee, if you get my meaning. LOL. And by the way, I flew the DB Cooper aircraft when it was at Piedmont. :)

Yea, my dad was hired at Piedmont in '78 and went to YS-11 school, but then tossed him on the panel of the 27 instead. He talks of flying the old NW D.B. Cooper plane as well! He is looking forward to his retirement in May, for sure.

Are you still interested in a job at CS, or have you explored other options?

What if Mapquest says you're 2 hours and 15 minutes from SMF but you've done the trip in as little as 1 hour, 45 minutes with an average of 2 hours even?? Any leeway?|

I put on my app that, no, I didn't live w/in 2 hours of SMF but was willing to relocate. Would hate to move 10 miles away just to get a job!

Eric

I hate to say it but if you live 2hrs and 1 min away via mapquest info., you wouldn't be eligable. However saying that, Pilot recruiting will look at alot of different maping programs to see if they can get you inside that 2hr ring. They will work with you, but 2+15 is out of the spectrum. Good Luck!

Thanks...

*starts looking for a house 15 minutes away*
