Just got the letter today stating I'd been placed in a pool. Anyone know how long I'll be swimming or how long any of you currently have been in the pool?

Hope all those that interviewed got the letter too.

I got my letter yesterday and I was wondering the same thing about how deep the pool was. What did you think of the sim?

the sim was really straight forward. Nothing tricky ie. t/o hold then to ndb, ils, missed, engine failure, clean up and done.
congrats avroguy. might see you in indoc

are you 121 current?
if yes, I thought 121 guys did not have to do the sim?

I didn't have to do the sim I just remember Cpt kangaroo had to do the sim. and yes I am still 121 current. I think. Any how the plane i am current in is going away, so here I am

Got a call from Linda Bannister, the person who replaced Rosa for Ops Recruiting, today. E-170 class on the 27th of March in STL.

Congrats man. Did she tell you if it was for Shuttle America or Republic?

Hail to the People's Republic of Chautauquastan!!

Use your imagination. The writing is one the wall. Handful more 170s for the loss of 145s.

Its just weird that 2 weeks ago, they said they were having 2 classes/ month thru june. additionnnaly, isn't there a relation with the fact that the ceo is in talks with Delta right now?

word is that MCO chq 145 base is going bye-bye with a signifigant reduction in delta 145 flying for CHQ.

the joke circus pilots over at mesa are going to take it over flyin all of indy's old CRJ's, comair will get the rest.

NO new 170's for Delta anytime soon either. Get out of CHQ while you can-exco is working out the details right now..

Savi,
It's all related, but it also a wait and see game. It's what were doing, and it's what you are going to have to do too.

Got the class date for March 27th as well. Was told it is for Republic. FYI: I interviewed back in Dec. However, I had to turn down the Feb. 27 class. Hope to see some of you there.

PS-- Does anyone know how hard it would be to get DCA as a domicile?

Cheers--

If the March Class 27th class is a RPA class you can't bid IND or ORD. You will have to choose between PIT,DCA, and PHL. (Coming soon)
The E145 classes were "pushed back". I think you'll see the hiring for the E145 pick back up around June. We've heard nothing about MCO closing. In a letter from BB this week, he doesn't see MCO closing as of now. On the other hand it looks as if FLL may be closing by May or June. That's is a RUMOR.

For those swimming in the pool, you shouldn't have to swim that long. Classes have picked up again. BEst of Luck and welcome on board.

Is it likely that a new hire could be awarded DCA? How tough would PHL be to get? Thanks for any help...
Cheers--

Going through sims now for the 145. FS staff told us that they are booked solid with CHQ 145 classes until the fall....... its anyones guess about all of this anymore.

You can expect DCA as your base. PHL has not opened yet but will go senior. PIT is super senior.

How do they determine whether you go to Republic or Shuttle? Do they let you submit preferences? It's just odd that at all other airlines you know what your choice of bases would be...part of the lure of applying to CHQ/RPA/TSF? is that the Shuttle bases really would be great for my wife and I. It would just suck if you're excited about getting hired, but then are assigned to an airline that would base you on the east coast when you are looking for a midwest base. If you get assigned to one or the other, after a certain time is there a way to "bid" to the other side?

Checking my flight tracker, it always seems that Shuttle has more aircraft flying than Republic...is that really true or am I just checking at the wrong times?

Thanks

You have no choice. You will go where the company needs you at that time. Weather it is RP/RW/or S5.
You can only bid from one company to another when you upgrade.
Shuttle does have a lot more aircraft in the air. We are still acquiring the Mid-Atlantic airplanes and it takes time to get them over to the RPA certificate.

More than likely you'll goto republic right now we have more planes than ppl to fly them youll probably get DCa as the base PIT is senior and so is PHL when that opens im debating going to PHL myself easier commute but the LGA shuttle is cool too. if you get DCA get used to the lines they're wack lots and lots of 6am shows.

Which airlines can RW pilots spouses ride on for free?
Thanks in advance,

Free rides on USAir, America West, Republic, and all Chautauqua and Shuttle America flights NOT operated for United.

ID90's on dang near everyone else.

make sure and watch your pay. Those 3 companies love to short you...

.

I'm in the 170 March 27th class in STL. How long do you suppose it would take to hold PIT. I understand that it is "super-senior" and that it might be tough to tell until all of the shuffling around gets taken care of, but does anybody want to take a crack at how long it might take to hold PIT FO? (12mos?) Thanks
