Hell I wouldn't want to be out of the footprint of my plane anyway, that ramp is pretty much chaos and one of the most dangerous places I could think to be walking around.

You got that right. 2 or 3 years ago I almost got runover by a catering truck that was hauling ass with no headlights on as I was walking across the ramp at night.

Just a few thoughts for the Assey crews...GROW THE @#$% UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Mr. Internet Tough Guy, why not just walk down to one of the crew rooms and state your problems in person?!?!?!?

He can't do that because then he'd get arrested. Therefore, he relies on flightinfo.

He falls in the same group as D'angelo.

Just so we are on the same page...as anyone actually seen this TSA memo? Or are we just trying to get Chataqua out of crew rooms?

1) THE ATL airport police tough guys wouldn't let it happen.
2) If they did, some ACY tough guy would complain too much about it. I've never been to any airport where there was more crap going on over the freq, some of you guys (NOT ALL) need to grow up.

I have never seen any CHQ pilots wandering where they did not belong, but that is not to say that it does not happen. But it sounds as if life is being made tough for the crews in ATL. I mean this goes way beyond stepping on their radio transmissions. Hahaha.

They hand out in D sometimes. They are the ones that don't talk to you and have a bitter look on their faces.

I doubt there is an actual memo. Hell, all of us bypass security anyways in ATL to get to work, so why should they care about a few CHQ crews walking outside of their aircraft footprints.

If anything, it is probably just a reminder of general practices. We had a F/A in CHA get in trouble for leaving the aircraft to look for a smoking area.

Maybe the ATL TSA can work on fixing the problem that shut the ATL airport down for 4 hours last week instead.

The best thing I ever saw in ATL was one guy driving the catering truck like he had stolen tv's in it, with the side doors open. Made a sharp turn and about 200 cans of soda were rolling around the ramp like someone yelled "COPS" at a drug house. I saw a few cans make it out to the taxi line.

Yeah, I'm sure he is. I bet you can actually attest to whether or not his OX is LONG too.

It probably was stolen, this is ATL we're talking about.

Ohhhhhhh how I miss the days of having 2-3 near misses in the south practice area!

Which is why I was at least 3-5 miles east of the ocean doing my maneuvers, quiet out there (or I thought)
I do everything over the ocean at weird altitudes like 3725, heh...

I have a couple of friends. Heckler and Koch.

good, more reasons for the chicken tacos to whine. it's alright tho, i hear that atl's fire dept bought a new waambulance. and i'm also in it for the 100 bucks, harry.

TSA discrepancies

Why is TSA policy so different at airports? Some care about this like PIT where it seems like gate agents question you for walking from A18 to A18Y without going inside first. Others like DCA right next to the Pentagon and capital, you walk 1/4 or so from your plane to the terminal if there isn't a bus around. Is it really TSA who cares or is it airline employees that don't want you walking around? TSA wouldn't even know if someone doesn't rat you out.

Sure Oxlong is 6'5" and two buck thirty, more like 5' with a bad disposition

You guys are getting worked up over nothing. I'm not going to claim to know the security rules for every airport in the country, but I've held SIDA badges at three (IAD, MKE, CVG) and the required training was the same at all. You can't walk around the SIDA area without a badge. If you are a pilot you can walk around your airplane and to the terminal (directly). If you see someone without a badge you are supposed to challenge them, if they threaten or ignore you, you are supposed to call your supervisor or the police.

I've heard stories of TSA officers walking around the ramp wearing a fake ID with Mickey Mouse on the picture. If he was discovered, the employee got a reward, if not, the airline got fined. I would rather not get my company fined. Besides, what the heck are you doing walking around the ramp anyway?

Leave it up to CHQ and SA to whine and moan about someone actually enforcing the rules!!! Now get off the computer and go to your second job so you can afford to pay off your student loans!!

I have yet to see a Sha-Ka-Ka pilot in the Bada-Bing. If they were there, I wager they weren't there for long. The Prop Mafia can be a tough crowd...

Ask the 50 seat crews.

...yet another reason for instituting "Universal Access!" We're the last ones that they should be concerned about, for Pete's sake :/

Yeah I think the reason CHQ has to stop before they enter ramp 4 everday is so they can have someone escort them on ramp since they don't have a Sida badge? Is that it, is that why you CHQ clowns feel the need to come to a dead stop and THEN call ramp control?
