Congratulations!

It appears the contract must have been ratified, although no official news yet. I have heard all the furloughed guys will be back in Dec.

Are you an ATP instructor?

Well, congratulations and, as Charlie Brown said:

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

No word at the middle of the class. Top?

Great....congrats.

Now where the &%$#'s my recall letter?? Why are new-hire classes being scheduled with people still on the street??

Well considering it takes over a month for a new-hire to get going....it times out right.

Start on Oct 17th....be done approximately late November.

Recalls to be back early Nov........works out right.

Starchecker, maybe you need to call the HR folks to see if they have news for you. I've heard stories of recalls with no official letter, and just a "you're recalled" message on the answering machine. If you are not proactive, you may be waiting for too long.

silverhawk,

When were you interviewed and when did you get hired? I have some friends still waiting in the pool ! thanks for the info.

bass ackwards

While it may be prudent for Starchecker, myself, and the rest of our class (the 17 remaining furloughees) to be proactive, I'd like to say this:

Is it unreasonable to think that the company could communicate the timetable of our return before setting the pool to swimming?

I realize that a week is a very short time and I am aware of the logic in getting a new-hire class started before we return but 17 phone calls to people with employee numbers is not too much to ask. "You'll be getting a letter next week, see you November 1. We're calling 17 more to start indoc next Friday."

Do you think they called Alec first?

I am very happy but a little torqued.

Congrats to all, see you soon,
BD

the only logic i can think of:

well it takes 6 weeks for a new hire class to finish and then start IOE....in that 6 weeks we (6-30 class) need to either be halfway through IOE or be finishing it up. and given the 100 hours in a month limitation....its possible to do it in the time they have to finish up ground and sim. remember they start the 17th....not tomorrow.

besides i think they have to coordinate all that who goes where for IOE stuff and schedule it with the capts. that do the IOE with us. The only problems i see is the whole new SOP they've gotta teach us, not having any sim to practice any of the new SOP in and doing it all on the fly. im just overly cautious about such things....its like jumping in the water and changing into your swimsuit in the air. (ugly images for some of us...well...all of us) theyll give us a day or two to go over it with us in class and then off we go to doors and exits then go fly.

the class before the 6-30 class is just now done with their IOE...its time we get a call at least about the plans they have and the steps theyre taking to get us back. thats the courtesy i absolutely expect form a company that wants to be worth its salt.

time to get out the flash cards.
time to get out the rum.
(capt. morgan makes it, admiral nelson drinks it)

You don't need sim time to learn the new SOP. None of us online are getting sim time. They send you the book, you complete the take home test and send it back in and your good to go on it. Its not that hard. It ought to be a lot eaiser for those of you that haven't flown the line yet anyway (or very little) because you don't have the old habbits to break like the rest of us do.

c21dvr,
your probably correct....after all 100 hours to get it right ought to be enough anyway. and its a takehome test (they still pay you only 1 hours worth to do it?)

Ask for HR, or Crew Planning or any other department to get quicker answers instead of asking on here.

I called HR today. Recall letters are going out next week for all remaining furloughs....possibly on Monday. Recall date "sometime in November" was all I could get. We'll know next week.
