Naw, I think I get "it". "IT" is horsesh*t. As long as we're all driving airplanes that say "connection" or "express" on the side, aren't we really on the same "team?" Y'know... Taking mainline jobs? Sure buddy, make sure it "gets real ugly" if we have to share a crewroom. We're sorry you're stuck at "America's Sorriest Airline" when you obviously should be at mainline! Lemme guess though; Mainline wouldn't hire ya? Please, if you could just take that frustration out on those of us that are in the same boat, or at least the same basic make and model boat, that'd probably be best for EVERYBODY!!

give us a freaking break...british airways express in the US? NO. I've heard of nieve, but thats just freaking dumb.

Bah... so i'm just a stupid and dumb student pilot then. I've got no idea. How am i supposed to know? Some of the things i've read on this board have made it hard to distinguish true from false at a first glance. Crazier things have happened too. Want an example? How about a company trying to sue a furloughee over training charges is he goes to another airline? Not that's freaking dumb if you ask me. They are the ones that furloughed him.

It always made me wonder, with a pilot group that was BIGGER then the former ASA, why don't CHQ pilots call ASA the competition. Got to love corperate culture. I forgot you guys owned ATL, do you call Comair a competitor as well?

I was in ATL yesterday during the nasty weather delays on "C" concourse waiting to head up to ILM. Supv was working the gate and informed me they just got finshed with Difference training for the E145. Looks like CHQ will be parking on the C and/or D gates.

CHQ has more than 1800 pilots? I didn't realize that you guys were so big yet.

During the previous Comair strike, the CHQ guys were asked informally if they'd like to pick up a little extra flying out of CVG on a temporary basis.

Imagine, if you will, your reaction if you unknowingly placed your hand into a rat trap. That was the exact reaction from management when the CHQ group replied to the question.

You supply the list of struck work, CHQ will do, (or in this case not do) what needs (or in this case needs not) to be done

I'm just glad some of you guys have found a new hobby of insulting and pissing on other people. YAY.

And Alin10123, have you ever used the internet to maybe do a little research on your own before showing everyone here on this unbiased and ethical forum just how much of a 'student' you are?

Are you saying that CHQ and Comair or ASA are not in competition for Delta's flying?

You have no idea what airline I fly for.

ok i have a question for all the ASA/Comair/everyone who has a problem with CHQ guys out there...im in no way trying to be a smarta$$..so please educate me...im from Indiana..so naturally CHQ is the hometown carrier....i have alot of friends that work there and love it..i wanted to work there...so i applied got hired and am sitting in the pool....i understand some of the things that have gone on in managment lately are not nessecarily the greatest....but im honeslty asking...what does everyone have agaist CHQ? is it the pilot group or the management...what has everyone that has ever worked at CHQ done to get such a bad rap...Its the only place i ever really wanted to work and i found everyone to be super nice and i really liked the environment...im reallt excited to start....please enlighten me??????????

My uneducated two cents

CHQ doesn't have a bad rap, except to a few loudmouths on this board who would never say anything posted here to an RAH crewmember's face. Primarily, it comes from jealousy from a rash of 18-24 month upgrades and the supposed "stealing" of "their" flying.

Some people didn't understand that the cost of scope (ie all RAH flying on the CHQ master list) was a buck or two per hour on the pay rate for the 2003 contract. Given current events within the small jet industry, I'd bet a few people would take that trade today. Also, many of these same people don't put a dollar figure on QOL items like a commuter clause and no junior manning. Sure the compensation could be better, and there could be full pay during training, but given the negotiating environment they were in (post 9/11 and post Mesa contract) and compared to what they had before, they fared pretty darn well.

The only legit complaint I've ever heard about the pilot group is that the FO pay and 70/90 seat pay sucks, because it does...but that can be negotiated up in 2007. Everything else is just whining and complaining from people that need a scapegoat because their own career progression hasn't moved the way they had hoped, expected or liked. Much of that vitrol (the underbidding of flying, etc) lies directly on the shoulders of BB and WH, not the pilot group.

CHQ is no different than any other contract carrier out there, whether its Mesa, Skywest, GL, Colgan, etc...of course there will be some animosity between mainline or wholly owed and contract carriers because of 'stolen flying'.
