I doubt the 13 170s are free and clear. Generally, an airline mortgages those planes just like a house. They recently took delivery of 3 170s where they paid Embraer $17M, and I believe they owe $12M for the remaining three to be delivered shortly. The $110M would cover the estimated $45-60M equity in the 13 170s, LGA/DCA slots, plus instant access to remainder of the fleet.AirBill said:Not necessarily.
