I can't find it in the aim or online and it is making me nuts.

What is the distance of painted centerline markings and the gaps between them?

Some one help me out and tell me where you found it written.

Never saw it written but was told by a CFI that the stripes are 120' long with the gaps 80' long. Thus, 200' from the start of one stripe to the start of the next.

Only a dork like me would know where to find this......

Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5340-1H Page 4

Stripes are 120 ft in length, gaps are 80 ft, Mimimum width for precision is 36 inches, 18 inches for nonprecision, and 12 inches for visual runways.

Just curious, why do you need to know this?

A friend was asked this in an interview and it bugged me that I could remember where it was. Thanks for the help.

LET IT BE KNOWN, LEARNING HAS OCCURRED!!!!

U want a real dork question:

Why are the runway centerline lights offset and what does the offset indicate?

The lights are offset opposite the major taxiway and taxiway lights are offset opposite the runway.

My favorite "stump the interviewee" question:

On enroute charts there are Grid MORAs. Some are Red. Some are Green. What's the difference? The difference is the Red ones are above 14k' and the Green ones are below 14k'.

Why?

If you try and take off on a runway that was treadmill-like moving in the oppos....nevermind.:D

I was told the painted centerline stripe is on the terminal side of the airport. So far all the airports I've been to this is true.

I thought it was "magenta", not red...
