Just wondering who is upgrading at CAL? I am sure the new CA are EWR 737, but what is their DOH?

Thanks

Most junior captain hired: Sept 2005 (737/EWR)

Mid-Sept '05 hire. Around 3970-something seniority, if I remember right.

Amazingly, EWR 756 CA went to about 3200, which is fairly low itself. People tryin to stay off the R-S-V.

Yeah - reserve really blows at Cal, so it's interesting to see how junior EWR CA has gone. I certainly don't want to commute to reserve, but to each his own.

I would imagine a lot of the guys taking the upgrade live locally (or close enough to locally). If you are on the 756 and have been here less than 3 years, you're really only seeing 12 days off (very commutable 12 days off because of the trip types, but still 12). Would you rather make 70-ish an hour with 12 off or 145-ish an hour with 12 off, assuming you don't commute. A lot of guys are taking the upgrade with the intention of doing it for a few years and then bidding back to the right seat in something a little more "civilized".

So the theory goes...

Congrats to the new upgrades.

Have fun at the Robert Treat or the Swann in Newark. LOL

Thank god I am back to Houston.

What is so bad about the bottom of the list at CAL that CAPT goes that junior? Is it PBS or is it something else?

Before Poco puts her 2cents in; yes, it's PBS and Reserve. Nothing more and nothing less.

And,,, about EWR; fyi it is not that bad. I live in Florida, have commuted to IAH, GUM, and for the most part of 19yrs to EWR. The best trips on B777, B767, B757 are EWR, and if you like the city (NYC) it is right there. Concerts, the park, ballgames, shows, travel, eating, on and on.

Everyone is right about delays, ATC, challenges, etc., but for commuting East coast you have so much flexability with connects, jumpseats etc.

3 year pay on the 756 is 70ish an hour????????

We'll take it back, but by how far is up to us. I didn't know a damn scab is on our negotiating team. Wasn't this the situation with '02?? Isn't that ahole over in management now? Jesus....I hate scabs.

That is something I agree with you 100% on. If our pilot group does not wake up and harness all the energy into becoming unified we ain't gonna have ********************.

On the other hand, if we finally start to act like a damn union and direct our elected representatives accordingly, we can probably get something accomplished.

Are we gonna be the "Mesa" of the Legacies? Or not?

I vote NOT. Which is only a "T" away from NO! ;)

Dude...go drink a beer or something. You're gonna blow a piston!

NO strikebreakers were on the Negotiating Committee during C'02 talks.

The MEC Chair and some of the elected representatives had crossed though. They (all 9 of them) authorized the TA to be sent out to the pilot group.

The guy that is in management now was the former NC Chairman and was hired after the strike was over. 1986 I believe.

He was a People Express fmr. Along with a bunch of other sell outs from that fmr era that screwed a lot of people over.

Just so you know for the record, KD is one.

JM was a PE FMR, man we are still putting tags on these guys 21 ! years later, but thats how it works.

Reminds me of the Obit I read in the old read files. Some '83 hire died, and some person went through every fleet book and scribbled "Scab" across each bio. I said to someone "wow that mark follows you to the grave" "Tough lesson"?

Another reason, B737 Captains pay is not that much more than 9-12 year f/o pay. Guys are not willing to give up QOL for just a little more pay.

$18-$20 dollar difference between Widebody f/o and 737 Captain. Years 8-12..

It's like the old saying goes: "A scab is a scab until he dies, then his name changes to dead scab."

Then his legacy lives on at his airline as his kids who were hired with zero turbine pic carry the torch. Must be 25 at the 'ol CAL to date. Gotta love preferential hiring.

I flew with one just before coming to CX. He was an FO with less than a year at XJT. Was a flight instructor before that, and was on his way to CAL as his dad was a trainer. Couldn't have been more than 24 Y/O. That was in March or April 06, so he should be holding EWR CA pretty soon. He was a real pleasure to fly with too, let me tell you.....

You don't capitalize "God" but you capitalized "I."

You do think mighty highly of yourself don't you?

Ummmm, in english the letter "I" is always capitalized if used alone in a sentence.

It can be capitalized or even used lower case when used in a word. Depending on grammar.

For example:

Where is Greg, I was supposed to go to lunch with him.

Or another example:

Captain X's quoted post is ludacris!

In advance, you're welcome!
