I know I am going to get ridiculed for saying this: A standup is continuous duty where you usually have some sort of break where you can catch some sleep. So basically you are working nights and you get to take a 2.5 hour nap. It is no different than working for a night cargo operation only those guys don't get a nap. I feel the FAA rules do a descent job of preventing fatigue amongst pilots. However Mesa as a company should change their schedule so it is not so brutal. Even Great Lakes puts their pilots up in a hotel on a standup.
