Edited for MJG:
This post was a comeback to Vingus' weak and ignorant post about benefits - and that only. I have never advocated junior pilots subsidizing senior pilots' careers and I 100% disagree with the current policy/contract of no health care for 6 months. I will do my part going forward to effect positive changes for all new hires at CAL.
Sincerely,
B. Franklin
And enjoy your 30 bucks an hour your first year along with NO health care for 6 months. Sweet!
It's more like $29.50/hr.
What's up dude? Have you listened to today's earnings conference call? Management addresses this issue on that call. Some of the new NG's are replacement aircraft for the classics.

It may have been a cheap shot, but it wasn't ignorant or untrue! If it is, please enlighten me, cause I gotta tell you, that first year pay is enough to scare people off!

Nothing much, just sitting reserve in the treatment center.
As I stated, the 65 NG's will be MOSTLY growth. I understand that some of the NG's will replace some of the classics. That being said, I didn't listen to the conference call, I just don't see why we would spend a good chunk of change to put winglets on airplanes we will get rid of in the near future.
Cheers
Now we will work on getting that pay up for you so in 3 years you can start at $40 an hour. It might take you 20 years to upgrade but hey, you'll get that extra $10 bucks an hour!!!
