SCOPE UPDATE 2
On Monday, we gave you an update on the status of Continental’s plan to place the CO code on United Express flights using 70-seat jets to and from CLE, EWR, and IAH. We told you that we had exchanged information and formal arguments related to the issue and that we had provided a deadline (today) for receiving confirmation from management that they had ceased and desisted with their plans.

We received a communication from management today, but it did not include their intent to cease and desist. To the contrary, they fully intend to move forward with their plans. In light of their ill-advised decision to proceed and as we have forewarned, we will now begin work on taking the appropriate legal actions available to us in the coming days and weeks. Watch for more details from the union soon, beginning with information for upcoming SPSC events in EWR and IAH later this month.

"Ceased and Desisted" Really? No Kidding?

-It is no wonder we pilots get stomped on over, and over, and over...

-I must go cry now.

hopefully this will unite the CAL and UAL sides and remind everyone who this real fight is against. the USAir merger was a fight between pilot groups, this needs to be a fight by two united groups for a contract that we deserve and can be proud of.
Agree !!!!!!! DO IT

People, if we as Continental pilots and United pilots don't come together on this, we're screwed. It won't matter about 744 pay or SLI or who does what or where......we're ALL as a group completely screwed. So, the ball's in our court now.

ps....Smisek just doesn't give a f***. He's another Lorenzo in sheep's clothing. Enjoy the ride folks. I'll bring the Prep H for the roids.

What exactly was the response received or does the union not post that?

A lawyer could argue that the issue here is not scope rather simply a "code/call sign" on a flight which in the long run is incosequential since the entire company will be called United.

SCOPE UPDATE
This is an update on the status of management’s plan to place the CO code on United Express flights using 70-seat jets to and from CLE, EWR and IAH. As previously communicated, less than two weeks ago, we met with the Company to clearly express our objections and to formally request their contractual justification. We received their response last week, at which time we also received their request for a more complete explanation of why we believe their actions are a violation of Section 1 of the Continental CBA.

We have now provided that to the Company, along with our steadfast insistence that they confirm to us, no later than this Wednesday, Nov. 10, that they have ceased and desisted with their plans. As I have said before and I will repeat now—we are prepared to use all appropriate legal vehicles to bring resolution to this issue and ultimately prevent outsourcing in violation of our current CBA. We will provide you with additional updates as more information becomes available.

Am I the only on e that has a problem with this? You can't tell someone to "ceased and desisted". You can tell/ask/order that they "cease and desist" then if they do it they will have "ceased and desisted". So from here on out you are ordered to “cease and desist” from all further moronic thread titles.
