500 were sent out. I received mine today. I'm about 490 something from the bottom.

CAL just posted an updated seniority list. I'm 467 from the bottom with a hire date of 03/06/07.

And just to clarify, these are not furlough letters. They are notices that Continental intends to furlough in the future. Federal and NJ State law require that CAL send these letters before any furloughs take place. They sent 500 out to cover their a$$ just in case the furloughs go that deep.

Nothing is ever certain in this industry. Wait until the numbers come back from the ERW and the COLA's. Stranger things have happened. I don't think anybody is making any bets yet. There will be a sustem bid that has now been moved to August that will reflect how many people with take the EWR, COLA, LTVRF, etc.
 
I'm wondering if they'll rebid everyone too. It's going to cost a bunch to retrain everyone that gets bumped off their equipment by displaced pilots.
 
Ya, if I was very Jr. in that fancy triple thingy, I'd be nervous also. You guys might have to show up and work!!! Hopefully this doesn't come to fruition, but I also am waiting for the early retirement, cola before worrying. If the fuel drops all of this is off.

You don't work anywhere remotely NEAR CAL... why come on their thread, drop that pearl of "wisdom", fail to even wish anyone good luck, and make the rest of the AAI pilots have to disavow you?

I've stayed out of the UAL/DAL/CAL threads about things like this because I don't work there. That said, I apologize for Scarlet - he got past the hiring group somehow and now we have to spend our time apologizing for him (hell, even some of his friends PM'd me to apologize for his comments in AirTran threads,,, and let me know who he was while he was in training).

Scarlet, take a F.I. vacation again. It was nice while you were too busy studying for your checkride to post here. We didn't have to listen to your management kool-aid. As close to the bottom as you are, maybe you should just wish other people well rather than point out the negatives at THEIR airline...

yeah all the people that worked with you at PCL have nothing but good things to say about yourself -sarcasm,and some of them worked with you in the union=so they know.
 
His story didn't sound like insurance fraud to me. If it were, I'm sure he would have been prosecuted. Changing a tire on his car or whatever it was with a back injury isn't exactly insurance fraud. Being out with a back injury and collecting on it while working at Home Depot lifting boxes or working for a moving company, however, is.

756 less control over schedule, more money, but don't think I'd like the lack of bunks over the pond. I'm leaning towards 737. What do you think?

So is THAT the story they're spinning at the training house these days? Insurance fraud?

I guess the State of Georgia has only had two Federal Court judges agree with my case (to date - another case still pending) and none with the company. Not to mention the State of Georgia declined to prosecute... after the company tried to convince them to... maybe because even the COMPANY'S doctors say I was injured?

But I'm sure the instructors aren't telling THAT part of the story...

My apologies to CAL folks for the thread hijack.
 
Hey, if any of you CAL folks know FK Jr. on the 737 out of Cleveland, tell him he seriously need to consider the idea that his old buddy from school keeps trying to push on him.

No offense bud, but you're probably not going to have a chance...you're junior to me and I doubt the guys in my group on the 756 might even hold it.

Never heard that number, but that's a great start. The smart ones will bail with their A-fund while it's still there. 4th quarter results may have them running to the exits.

Estimate is for a loss in 2008 of $434,000,000.

Actually that's pretty close to what I heard on my last trip. Something like 70 in EWR and 73 in IAH.

45 from the bottom, cautiously optimistic... pumping out apps and resumes...

I'm telling ya brother, pray like hell! Don't get off that thing and come to our side. You guys hate it! This piece of crap, did you know the plane does this for us! This is the crappiest FMS I've seen. How do you guys do this! What a pig. Is it really maxed out, that never happens, we can climb almost unrestricted compared to this. Not one has ever said, This thing rocks! I sure don't want to bum you out, but the light twin isn't for everyone. I personally don't mind banging around the states. It's alright. This piece of crap, you guys work way too hard, I'm biddin back. The next system bid, I'm going back as an F/O. F this thing. I could go on, but you get it.
 
Are there any 1st year Dudes flying the 777?? If they are, are they type rated in the 777?

One could probalby gove over to Emirate or one of those Middle East countries and be a walk on capt on the 777/767 or you name it. Word is they treat you like royalty.
