It's too bad some pilots can't see beyond their face. 30K first year (in fact, I think it's less than that), $70K second year (if you hold a WB line) and rising from there. Approx 5 yr upgrade to 73 captain, unheard of in the major business. Sounds to me like it's worth the 12 month setback in pay in return for flying scheduled with a world-class airline, with HUGE upside potential.
In fact, most majors first year pay sucks. Sometimes you just have to make the jump and experience the initial financial pain for the larger reward down the road.
Many corporate pilots, especially those who fly on-demand international, have some great experience that the CAL pilo group would benefit from. Hopefully those who want to come to CAL will see the upside beyond that first year.
