Very intertaining htread guys (I did that on purpose). As a matter of fact, I'm so inspired, I may apply to a fractioanl so i can fly with some of you!

I am not drinking. I did that hours ago...

There is a little icon on the upper right portion of the screen when you are typing that has an "abc" with a check mark. You should use that.

...or you could use a real computer (Mac) and it will check your spelling and grammar as you type, in any application, anytime!

You guys are trying to solve all the problems again. Am I the only one that knows, its all about FLUORIDATION MAN. General Jack Ripper was right..........

Heh Heh one my favorites buddy! This one's for you.

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake
: Uh, Jack, Jack, listen, tell me, tell me, Jack. When did you first... become... well, develop this theory?
General Jack D. Ripper: Well, I, uh... I... I... first became aware of it, Mandrake, during the physical act of love.
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Hmm.
General Jack D. Ripper: Yes, a uh, a profound sense of fatigue... a feeling of emptiness followed. Luckily I... I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence.
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Hmm.
General Jack D. Ripper: I can assure you it has not recurred, Mandrake. Women uh... women sense my power and they seek the life essence. I, uh... I do not avoid women, Mandrake.
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: No.
General Jack D. Ripper: But I... I do deny them my essence.

Buffett may be a smart business guy, but when he said that he thought we didn't pay enough in taxes he definitely convinced me that his political brain isn't quite as good. Maybe it is just a case of white, millionaire guilt like many Democrats. For whatever reason, he doesn't understand that tax increases in a period of slow growth are a sure fire way to get a recession. On the other hand, tax cuts, as enacted under Coolidge, Kennedy, Reagan, and Bush, tend to help the economy to grow.

Think about it this way. If you tax the rich, then they may decide not to buy a share with your company. If they don't buy a share, your company doesn't hire more pilots or buy more aircraft. If you don't buy more aircraft, the aircraft manufacturers suffer. So do FBOs, maintenance firms, cleaning companies, etc. Without their jet, the rich guys are not as productive, so they pay fewer taxes. They also don't pay fuel taxes, ramp fees, flowage fees, tourism fees, etc. to city and local governments. When the rich suffer, everybody suffers. This is trickle down, supply side, economics. On the other hand, you could assume that all rich people are stupid and spend the same regardless of the tax consequences.

I strongly support the right of people who believe that they don't pay enough in taxes to send in more and/or not cash their rebate check. However, as for me and my family, we pay plenty and, as for what's left, I think that I can spend it smarter than the government.

And, oh yeah, the Fair Tax rocks. Just look at Ireland and the Eastern European countries that have enacted flat taxes and lower corporate tax rates. Their economies are growing at phenomenal rates.

.

Seriously though, the U.S. is becoming a giant welfare state, and worse yet, we're paying for it all with monopoly money. When will people learn that you can't run a business, government, or for that matter your own personal finances on credit and expect it to end well.

I agree with you on the debt, but at least we aren't as bad off as Zimbabwe. Inflation there is running at about a million percent (seriously) under Robert Mugabe and his communist/socialist regime. Germany recently pressured a German company into stopping shipments of blank banknotes, which were filled in increasingly high denominations as inflation soared.
