Boeing comes out today and says they are developing a new Narrowbody not due to fly until 2030.

So much for American ingenuity.....We keep stretching and tweaking a turd for over 50 years and then have another 15 to play with. The MAX is old technology with another bunch of small changes but we are still stuck with the same type rating so don't expect much change....

Boeing & Airbus had record-setting delivery figures in 2013, with 648 and 626 respectively. Not a big margin between the two, but again it is the narrow body figures that dominate production levels.

Boeing put out 208 wide body aircraft compared to Airbus's 133, quite a major difference. The 767 and 747 round out the delivery books with 21 & 24 respectively. Though Boeing's win in this situation may look narrow overall, when you break down those figures there seems a very large gap in the wide body side of things.

In the battle between Airbus Group and Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) for dominance in the commercial aircraft space, every skirmish matters. Airbus reported last week that it has taken net orders for a total of 203 new aircraft in the first five months of 2014. Boeing's order book for the first five months of the year totals 394.

Yes they have. Should have never shut down the 757 line. Problem is they 312LR gives how much more range? 100NM? GAFB. You still can't fill it and go across the pond westbound.

I think you may have misunderstood.

The '100NM further' is not in comparison to the 321NEO. It's 100NM further than the 757W. Given your logic above, you couldn't fill the 757 and go across the pond westbound. Which isn't the case.

I agree - by 2030 Bombardier will have the CS100, CS300 and probably the rumored CS500 in full operation and taking market share.

I actually blame Airbus because the NEO forced Boeing's hand and the weak MAX compromise. At least the overhead panel on the MAX will be the same as the one on the NG for the Southwest pilots...
