The good news is that they are so cheap they won't last long.
Embarrassing, I admit.

What's wrong with them? I've gotten a number of compliments...

The pants are pretty standard dark pants. The shirt? Rather than smurf blue it's a shirt that you'd see in most men's departments.

Now if you're a guy who only feels comfortable in Hawaiian shirts and socks with sandals, yes, you're standard white shirt and gold will make you much more at home.

Cause pilots have the best fashion sense. Polo shirt tucked into your shorts with white sneakers and of course the panty dropper; the cell phone on the belt.

It's not the color scheme, it's the uniform quality. The material is awful, the cut is worse. Really poor execution.

They could have executed perfectly and then it would be the color. If they had gone with Ralph Lauren it would have been the wasteful cost. It's always something right?

There is a legitimate problem with the new uniform, particularly the shirts. You can file this away as typical pilot grumbling but it won't erase the fact that we look sloppy and unprofessional. The Elbeco shirts look a lot better than this private label custom trainwreck. Why must we keep inventing the wheel?

Keeping in shape and ironing a shirt would go far further towards avoiding a sloppy look. Your point is noted though.

Body shape and ironing can't correct poor material, cut and construction. JetBlue really cheaped out here. Don't make excuses.

These shirts fit me right out of the package. It's amazing what being in the recommended BMI will do for how any uniform looks. It seems to me that those complaining of long sleeves ordered shirts that are too big. The neck size does seem to be more directly correlated to sleeve length than normal, so if you have a large neck and belly, the sleeves end up too long. They do wrinkle very easily. How about some of that no wrinkle cotton that all the men's stores use? That would have made a world of difference.

Whatever. The shirt fabric is bad, and wrinkles on the hanger on the way home from the dry cleaner. So what? I'll wear what they want me to wear. When they decide it looks bad 90% of the time, they will change the shirts.

The roll out of the new uniform is the biggest joke of the whole thing. Just like the last PEA. Here is the deadline. Okay, things aren't going well. Here is the new deadline. Some people still haven't received their new uniforms. When they do, some will still need to tailor them. The incompetence with which we execute amazes me sometimes.

Also, can anybody post a link for external view of the "uniform video" with our illustrious captain skipping down the hall hand-in-hand with the FAs, agents, etc.? It is the train wreck from which you cannot look away. The last few seconds are priceless.

I have to say the new shirts look good with the blazer but without the blazer i still like the old shirt.

I wish more airlines would have a light-colored shirt, like grey or something. white shirts show even small amounts of dust or dirt more easily, and of course if you spill the wrong thing on it, you gotta buy a new one.

Light grey would be much easier to clean, but tradition is tradition. Now, those guys in the black starship uniforms have it made. Plus, you can take off the shoulder bars and stop in at the local emo-rocker club for a drink without having to change clothes.

WTF? I've worked numerous days since the rollout and haven't notice anybody in the old uniform. Even if there were a handfull I wouldn't call that a joke or unsuccessful. They gave a 2 week timeframe for pilots transition, that sounds pretty reasonable to me.

And the video, who f'ing cares? Seriously is there anything some guys won't complain about? I think if the narrative one is looking for is always negative, any new change, initiative etc is just more fodder to complain about.

Got my shirts tailored, $35/shirt. They fit great now. The lady had to remove 10" of fabric from the back of my 17.5" neck tall tapered. I think I'll get the jacket done too. Other than that it's much improved from the old slop.

IMO it's an improvement all in all. However, there are a couple glaring quality issues - We are a week in and I've seen shirts lose buttons and the dotted ties are fraying.

Should have gone with white shirts that way anyone can order/buy the kind they like and feel comfortable with. Pants and jacket look good, blue tie works but should have kept old stripes. The new ones are awful, too skinny, don't fit and outline the blue with dark gray-almost Brown...could have outlined it with silver to make blue pop.

The slacks aren't standard grey pants as was mentioned earlier. They have a thin blue "window pane" watermark that makes it impossible to order matching pants from anywhere but the official vendor.

I wonder which Board Member owns a piece of HPI?

The lighter shirt material is a double edged sword. Cooler in the heat but it won't hold shape out of the dry cleaners plastic. I flew with a guy who had not received the correct pants yet so he went with the old uni. He got more smack talk from other pilots than anyone else. It's a shame. The rollout was a mess and he took the grief. This group has a way to go before we make any real headway with attitudes like that.
