I saw a great revue of the canadian ballet at The Sundowner in Niagara Falls Canada. Its not unusual on weekends for the ballet dancers to get extra close with each other if you know what I mean.

Best gas and go in the west is in Grand Junction, CO. Call Doug Thompson at West Star aviation.

I'll second that motion for a gas-and-go. I was just there about 6 weeks ago. Doug is a top shelf guy. The FBO pilot lounge is a stinkin' museum. You can kill some time just looking at all the goodies he's got. He lost the gov't contract for about 3 years due to the bean counters, but the other FBO that undercut him went bankrupt. Go figure.

Everyone knows where to go....

Mather--Jock Night--around 1988.

Oceana NAS--anytime 19xx-20xx...as long as the fleet was out.

Randolph--the Auger...prior to 1993.

How fast can your jet go? If it can slip time--THOSE were the places to be. At least...so I heard once....

Alright best to worst 3-ish day trips:

#1: Laage (Luftwaafe base near Rostock), JG73 (back when they had Mig29's) put us up. They had impressive talent at the freaking squadron walking around barefoot in the ready room, and home brew to boot.

2. Osan, (xc from Japan) as mentioned above

3. Hickam, of course

4. Savannah, as mentioned has a world class drinking disrtict on River street

5. Nashville, park at signature, go to Tootsies, end of story

6. Harlingen TX, (South Padre)

Actually, you'd fit in with quite a few pilots in my squadron!!

Hacking my watch to see how quickly dtfl posts in agreement with me!

A MONTH and a HALF before I said anything..see...see I can play well with others. :)

And Huck said that after H2O survival the 815LMs are becoming the Jelly Roll patrol....It's a close race now.

Just got back from Louisville (SDF) for Thunder Over Louisville and everyone that had anything to do with planes were treated like rock stars. This might be one airshow you guys should try to get. Even as a Crew Chief we were put up in a great hotel (Executive West), supplied rental cars, pretty good per diem (plus meal chits), police escort after the airshow to the waterfront for the largest fireworks display in the US, and a pre and post show party at 4th Street Live.

The pre party the day before at 4th Street was a zipper sausage fest though, but I had a great time in my civvies outside the bar we had for the party. Was kind of funny seeing SRA loadmasters from the KYANG hanging out in their zipper suits trying to pick up women.

I'm definately going to try to get this gig again next year.

You're the 4th person that's told me this in the last few years. Sounds like a great weekend.
Discovery Channel did an episode on the fireworks display there. Talk about BIG!

Huggy--

Make me the fifth.

I took the mighty Rhino there in 2001 (or thereabouts) for the static and flyover.

The shuttle was up, and filmed the fireworks from orbit. It's that awesome.

Nice hosting by the SDF ANG (AFRES?) guys; static in the morning, flyover in the afternoon, down to the hotel right on the river for the fireworks. Too bad I had to leave early the next morning to static at Maxwell's airshow.

Find some excuse to take a -38. You won't be disappointed.

Aviate in a safe manner!
