They are looking at the demographics of the pilot group right now. They have to see what areas they are lacking to continue their diversity utopia.

I would guess that if you are a handicapped black lesbian veteran, you will have a good shot at employment with UAL when they start hiring again.

That's a lot earlier than the "early '08" I was reading on the furloughee thread. That's good news.

Any rumors on aircraft orders or growth?

Or a retarded homosexual moslim with a hunchback and a speech impediment!

Hey Sonny, you should be on the interview board. Just make sure your candidates know the words to "All Star." Hey now, you're a rock star, get your game on... get paid"... (that was your theme song, remembah?)

How in the heck did you remember that? I hadn't thought about that since! But you are right, that damn song was STUCK in my head during the Sim eval.

I can see Shrek dancing to it :}

Is it a white, black or asian MUSLIM? You have to be specific.

I just remember sitting in '99 summer recurrent at ACA and you were totally butchering it with your falsetto... you got the moves though.

Fast times at ACA High!

Maybe a little later than that. I still have about 700 pilots below me and they just started coming back up the list. I suspect around late summer for me and then there are still about 300 senior to me. 2008 sounds more realistic, but who knows

Hi All--

Just finished my recall training on the Airbus. Standards Captain told me that we would probably be hiring by "late fall." As they go back up the list, alot who have been off property 5+ years aren't coming back. My feeling is that when they get to close to top of the list, that might change. Giving up on 5 years senority (which was my situation) might be a hard pill to swallow for some.

I got the same info. (this the August 2007....maybe Aug,Sept, Nov timeframe) Also I don't think the pilot group is willing to help out UAL management about the current Pilot staffing issue (we are way short) the need to hire soon, or the summer of 2000 will look like a picnic!~

I also know that the "New Hire" division is currently being set up, I go to TK later this month for a PX so if I hear anything I will post an update.

Note: The company can execute 5.B.3. when the first new hire pilot is hired at United Airlines and this can happen as early as August of this year. The agreement allows the company to flex up to 91 hours for mainline and 97 for LCO, only at the discretion of the pilot.

This was on the UAL ALPA board. Notice AUGUST!

what is a 5.B.3 and how does it affect when the newhires come around? Your alpa board is really telling you august will be about the time for newhires?
