Wings of Paradise, by Peter Forman

Forman, Peter N.. Wings of Paradise- Hawaii's Incomparable Airlines.
Kailua, HI : Barnstormer Books, 2005.

Interesting reading

+ it has some great pics- like the one taken in late 60's of an Aloha 737 with the Flower-Power look, and an Aloha van that looks like the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, on the ramp in the forground. Like it. :)

If you're an ATR Pilot.....

If you fly an ATR, or have aspirations to fly an ATR, then Unheeded Warning should be a required piece of reading.

BEST BOOKS for sure

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

this one is so popular it is unavailable at Amazon. Time tested classic.

Some more goodies

I also recommend any King DVD, action packed entertainment. Watching Martha is almost like watching Brianna Banks or Jenna Jameson

a guy named Sky Masterson, wrote a book called Pilots of The Line, which is actually a bunch of short stories he put together....short and an extremely good read

Gleim, LOL

As Discussed:
Hard Landings by Petzinger is definitely worth the effort.
Fate is the Hunter should be part of 121 indoc. Anything else by Gann is great, The High and the Mighty, Band of Brothers, The Aviator (makes you not feel so bad when you comment on that hot chick with the UM paperwork), etc.

Flying the Line, George Hopkins
Flying the Line Volume II

Really good reading, if not life changing:
North Star over My Shoulder, Robert Buck.

If the death of an airline turns you on, these are two grisly reads:
Collision with Collusion, J.T. Bertrand (Lorenzo, Continental, Bk, Strike - Read Hard Landing first for the bigger picture, this book gets down to the agonizing details.)
Skygods, Robert Gandt. (Rise and fall of Pan American.)

Yes to all, especially the first two!! Cheers.

'History of Aviation in America' by Bilstien

Lotsa great facts about the very early years and military stuff, but quite a bit about Trippe and Hughes

Not airline related but...

"Into the Mouth of the Cat"

Great book about Lance Sijan. F-4 guy shot down over Vietnam. Medal of Honor winner.

Let's see:

A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius - Dave Eggers

Kitchen Confiential - Anthony Bourdain

The Historian - Elisabeth Kostova

"anything by..." - Dennis Lehane

"anything by..." - Steven Ambrose

Running With Scissors - Augusten Burroughs

.... so many more...

And none have thing one to do with airplanes.
