Oh man, I hope he's OK. 1/4" more, right through the eyeball. Hopefully it drove into his sinuses and not his brain. Good luck to him.

He's another Netjets pilot and a remarkable man.

It happen down in Mexico and I'm happy to report that he made a full recovery. The company did a great job taking care of him. As much as us Netjets pilots like to bitch about the company, when the sh*t hits the fan they take care of us.

In this case the company arranged for all medical care and even ferried an aircraft down there to take him back to the good ole US of A.
 
Every pilot's secret terror - being ill or injured out of the good ol' USA to the point where you end up in a hospital of unknown qualities and/or sterility.

I can see this poor guy saying "No, no, don't leave me here, it's not as bad as it looks, I can do the leg. I want to go home."
