What appears to you that is better?
Better at what?
If you notice, Southern isn't racing to add more 777's, they are working hard on the -400 though.
Depends....
I owe ya' money or sumptin'???

Wrong!
here is a quote from our CEO's Email sent out this week:::::
"We developed our long term strategy and I am pleased to say that this growth strategy was fully endorsed by Oak Hill. Our intent is to grow the 777F fleet to 10 aircrafts (contrary to all the rumors out there, Oak Hill is fully behind our 777F’s!!), we are in the process, as I type this, of acquiring the first of our 10x747-400’s, the first of which will be delivered in 2011"
Hope you find a better customer for the remaining 777's than Thai. They have NEVER succeeded in cargo only ops. Thai would be my next to last choice for a new plane, MAS being my last choice. I think Thai still owes Atlas money and they helped sink Focus. LH couldn't make it work either.
The 777F is far more fuel efficient...It can almost carry the same load.
B777F Payload = 104t
B744F Payload = 113t
Ohhhh 9t wow

Does the -400F have more volume than the -777F?
The nose door on the 74 sucks, unless you are loading very long pieces of freight.

Very long pieces of freight pay a lot of money and the 74F aside from the Antonov's is the only game in town for this type of cargo.
Actually, Cargolux uses the nose loading as a normal course of business. The only restriction is pallet height. They can load and unload out of both ends.
