Just my two cents...

our company flies the 737-3,-5, -7,-8, -9, -9ERs, and the books say to use the standard 2.5 degrees/sec, although I do use a "2 stage" rotate as a personal technique.

Just like the 75/76, the -8's and -9's have artificially higher landing speeds. Coupled with the 118' wing, thats why the final approach speeds are so dang high! Sometimes final approach speeds are as much as 170 kts! When we have these high speeds I usually let the final controller know as a courtesy, when going to the non-hubs.
