I'd be interested in just sitting in a 3 week 727 ground school, if that's possible.

Ideally I'd like to just sit in there and not take tests, etc and not pay either, if i can.

Is this completely ridiculous or is it possible with someone like FEDEX or AMERIFLIGHT (in miami ?) ?

thanks

Anything is possible yet somewhat unlikely in today's society where security has been tightened. I am sure you will be asked "why" and may have a few hurdles to overcome however I don't think this is "impossible" by any means. I just hope you have a silver tongue since you may need it in this case- "0"

Make a few phone calls and if possible I would personally try and meet the head of the training department, and/or chief pilot and express your interest in wanting to educate yourself on the 727 and ask if they would mind you sitting in on class.

AMERIFLIGHT

I think they only fly the little planes, no 727's..

good luck

Miami-Dade used to offer a Ground School and 727 sim time for 300 bucks as part of an adult education program. A buddy of mine at Amerijet used it.

There are 727 sims at Pan Am, Aeroservice, and FSB in Miami.

Check with Miami Air, Falcon Air, and Amerijet too. They all operate 727's.

Why would you want to do such a thing? Why does it have to be a B727?
If you are being hired to flya B727, they have to give you the required training anyway, and if they don't, you don't want to work for them, that's for sure, not if you value your life and your certificate.

If you are just bored out of your mind, you could find something more productive to do than attend a ground school for an airplane you won't be flying, and if you will be flying it, see the above.

So, what does that leave us? Did you tell someone you have B727 time? Or are you trying to get a jump on B727 training?

WTFO?

suppose i'm going for a 727 type, which i am, and suppose it'll be a bit of a leap up, which it is, i'll be better off learning systems sort of informally for 3 weeks than boring holes in the sky at work like i have for the last 3 years. i may have a lead on a 737 ground school.

there has to be something admirable and safety conscious about VOLUNTEERING for 3 weeks of ground school. the usual fire hose learning method is too masochistic. the last poster sounds like he's on a mission.

i meant AMERIJET, not AMERIFLIGht
