Okay, but can you tell us where it is based at? :) There actually is very little public
info on that plane. While its not "black" per se, I think its sort of a shade of gray.

That information is not in the public domain.

I remember when a neighbor first used the term "B-2". It was an interesting moment as the person held a signifcant position in the program and it had been known merely as the ATB to that point. It will be interesting to see what your F-117"?" turns out to be.

I read somewhere that the Aurora was found in an Air Force budget paper where they accidentally used its name. Then the SR-71 was retired and then brought back, leading people to believe it came out of testing and then went back because of some problems.

And about the secret base, once the government was forced to admit Area-51 exists during the lawsuit by former employees, its secrets were moved elsewhere. Ive heard Colorado

I've got a shirt with that airplane embroidered on it. It's jointly operated by Lockheed and Boeing, and is used for a variety of airborne radar and sensor tests. :)

I'm sure there's plenty of black/dark secret stuff going on at Groom lake. The security is in place, they may as well continue using it. The White Sands missile range sees all sorts of uber-secret stuff too. When such hardware is launched, and either explodes or simply comes back down, teams of briefed workers form scrum-lines and scour the impact area for the pieces and parts.

yes but active in what sense? Not the super top secret as it was before.

Walk up to the border and see how close you get. There is plenty still going on there. Looks as busy as ever.

"walk up to any military base and see what happens"

Quite possibly nothing.

I've been out of the Marine Corps over a decade now. Drove up to the gate last week at NKX and was cleared on after flashing my drivers licence and explaining I was meeting a bud at the club for beers.

He's referring to area 51 / groom lake. Try hiking out there. Be sure to videotape it. Write to us from prison. We'll post it for you.
