I've got a shirt with that airplane embroidered on it. It's jointly operated by Lockheed and Boeing, and is used for a variety of airborne radar and sensor tests.

I'm sure there's plenty of black/dark secret stuff going on at Groom lake. The security is in place, they may as well continue using it. The White Sands missile range sees all sorts of uber-secret stuff too. When such hardware is launched, and either explodes or simply comes back down, teams of briefed workers form scrum-lines and scour the impact area for the pieces and parts.
