I was wondering if anyone knew of the professional pilot opportunies in the Charlotte/Concord area of NC. Are there any regionals based here? Any widely know among pilots freight or corporate companies based here?

Thanks for the info!

With or without Part 135 IFR minimums?

Package Express operates out of Concord. Charlotte must be a base for at least one of the US Air Express carriers, and of course I'm sure it's a base for US Air.

The NASCAR Air Force operates out of Concord - but that's very much a who you know not what you know business - hence their ability to fly into the ground a lot (ooooh, cheap shot).

Somebody must be flying taffic if the Nazi's at CLT Approach will let them, but I'm afraid I have no idea who.

some

Flight instructor at Wilgrove Airpark, out Albemarl road. There is a flying club there, the instructors get all of the $25 hr fee. No multi time though. There are also a couple of operators towing banners out of Wilgrove (8A6) Ph: 704-545-1875.

Package express out of concord. Cherokee 6, Seneca, and 402 hauling checks etc. Call Richie Lengel at 704-795-1600. Ned 135 mins

There is a school in concord too. More of the standard flight school, they have a twin but not sure how much it flys. Pay would be more in the $10-$12 range though. http://www.airnav.com/airport/KJQF

Mesa has/had a base there, not sure now with the merger/rearrangement. I think Peidmont has a base there too.

I flew traffic in Charlotte. But the company I flew for no longer exists. Someone bought the aircraft, so It may still be flying. .........nevermind, just checked the N-number and the guy who owns it now is living in TN. Ask the instructors a wilgrove though, someone will know.-kingaira90

With comments like that, you will never make it in the corporate field. So when your airline goes belly up (if you ever get to that stage). Don't look for anyone from a corporate to pick you up.

Is your total time noted in your profile correct?. If so, then the following probably won't be applicable to you present day but may be beneficial at some point down the line.

Spitfire Aviation out of Concord is currently looking for a 135 King Air cap ee tin and a Lear first officer. Pay is not good however, most senior pilot there is only making $37,000 (if that) and is a Lear captain, etc. If you meet 135 PIC mins. then go and speak with the director of operations. Feel free to pm me and I will put you in contact with the right people. This is a "decent" stepping stone at best, surely not a career place where one would look to call home for many years. They just lost two pilots and will probably be losing another one very shortly.

The Nascar flight departments (ex>Hendricks, DEI, etc) in Concord and surrounding areas are difficult to tap into and get your foot in the door with. It is all about "who" you know and being in the right spot at the right time. Most of these positions are filled prior to them ever being made public. Spitfire transports Harvick around the country (they manage the Lear) and a few other drivers so this would be a good start if Nascar is what you really want to do at some point down the line.

Piedmont does have a CLT base as well as Mesa. Piedmont operates the Dash 8's and I believe Mesa has a EMB-145 and 1900 pilot base out of CLT. You also have quite a few 91 operators in that area flying King Airs and light jets that you may want to look into and pursue depending on your total time and experience level.

Pretty bad cheap shot considering all onboard that King Air lost their lives on that flight. Not overly cool considering the circumstances but whatever floats your boat.

Having worked in nascar and still knowing alot of pilots there I would have to say that was one of the most f ed up comments ive read on this board in a long time. That ka crash was a huge blow to the hendrick racing family as well as all the pilots in nascar. Nascar pilots fly more than most corp. pilots and have a great track record for the amount of hrs and places they fly every yr. For you to make a comment liek that just shows that u are scum of the earth and belong in a mountain with them!!!!!!

GSO is a base for Chautauqua and Comair.

IFL in PTK flies a Convair 580/5800 freighter outta JQF if you don't mind being on duty 24/7. They just hired an FO for it a couple months ago though...but nobody stays put forever.
