Just think about how much more money you'd be making on your TDY if Mesa paid the $1.50 - $1.60 everyone else pays for per diem. Ouch.

I usually make the reserve guarantee at Eagle plus around 300 hours of tax free per diem at $1.55.

According to many of the DHC-8 FOs I fly with, They BRING HOME about 600-700 dollars every 2 weeks.

Trust me, I wish they would pay industry standard per diem... that would give me a couple hundred extra tax-free dollars to play with every month. Mesa does suck, but I'm still doing okay compared to other prop FOs throughout the industry. Even though it is tempting to jump ship and go somewhere else, I think the quickest way to a better quality of life is to stick it out here rather than go back to the bottom of a seniority list at another regional. I'm not too far from upgrading here.
