Jim said:One of the Avantair owners and his wife regularly read this board. They are pretty good at finding out who's posting (although in my case it was obvious and no I did not get fired for posting here).
Enough said.
BTW - don't PM me with Avaintair questions now that is obvious I used to work there. I won't answer them for a couple of reasons. Also it's been 9 months since I left and things change.

Captains are at 40k and co-pilots are at 25k to start. There is profit sharing, bonus, and overtime on top of the salary. Yearly increases in salary are built in. Pilots meeting the requirements may be hired into the left seat. Training is combined with some at Flight Safety and some in the aircraft. The company is growing fast with 12 more Avanti deliveries in 2005, as well as several new jet deliveries. The company has significant financial backing and strong management. Current hiring is approximately 16 per month. The Piaggio is a great aircraft, soon to have the Proline 21 suite. (July) Performance is similiar to a Citation V with a cabin more similiar to the Excel. Book says 2,850 for takeoff, we use 4,000 as a minimum and will go as short as 3,500 on a case by case basis. As far as baggage, there is 45 cubic feet in the cargo area (aft of the cabin) and 22 cubic feet in the closet. Full size, fully enclosed, stand up bathroom as well. Avantair is certified under 91K and 135.

Preference is given to folks living near the three basis, but more and more pilots are airlining to aircraft so that may change. Under 91k two pilots are required for our operation, so the SIC becomes a required crew member. Prior to that SIC's could log PIC, but only when acting as the sole manipulator of the flight controls.
