Saw the Avanti Air Flying Catfish in the movie Miami Vice.

Are you sure that wasn't an Adams 500 prop (new aircraft type looking like an updated Skymaster)? Thought I saw it on the movie trailer....

It was also in the movie; however, if you actually go to the movie you will see both. In the interest of accuracy a Lear, and a King Air as well.

Can anyone working for Advantair tell me what are the downsides there? Of course- please include the perks too. I am flying the regionals t-props and I am looking for a solid growing company. How do you like the schedules? Does it run into 7+ days? How are the company gateway travels to/from?

Are the client lists growing? Thanks for the info. Its great to hear from the inside.

I believe that one of the downsides is that they won't hire anyone that has not done enough research on the company to spell the name correctly.

I was offered the job with about 2900tt, 2100pic, 700 Lear25 sic, 1000 multi and an ATP.

She said my time was a little low, but I was competitive because I had 135 experience and Lear experience. I seem to remember them posting their minimums on their site, but I just looked and cant seem to find them.

Hope that helps, Im sure some of the other guys on the line can answer your question better.
You sound like you have some pretty competitive experience for a lot of turbine PIC jobs (king air etc). I am surprised that time is considered low by avantair. Are they in need of captains, so they are looking for times for an upgrade?

I am considering applying with 1900 total, 1000 multi, 1100pic, and 1000 turbine sic (of which 850 turbojet (airline), 150 t-prop (small frac,)). Would I be at all competitve?

On another note, how hard is it to get DIA as a base?

So you wont get hired if you want to stay in Florida becuase they are fat on pilots there?

They make you move? Do they relocate you?

I have a feeling you already know the answer to this one.

Lear,

Yes, their HQ is in FL. They are trying to get pilots more evenly based around the country. Right now we have too many pilots in Florida and it is difficult to do crew swaps on the other side of the country with so many people in the Southeast. Until we are even spread out, they won't hire into areas where we are heavy on pilots.

Dilligaff

Well, here is the obvious question, do you have to live next to a gateway? Thanks...

Yes, you have to live within a two hour drive of your gateway.

guys, like all jobs, the only way to get a call is to have someone talk to someone who will call someone...if you have a buddy at Avantair have them call HR

as for perks - cool plane, fun coworkers
downside (for 121 guys) - no more free airline passes
