I think it goes down to 400 RVR as well. So we can start the approach when others can't even do it

Who needs a DH? How about an Alert Height and 300 RVR. Don't need to see a thing! B757/B767. And you can comfortably take 4 in the cockpit with bags.....
 
The HUD also buys us an extra 200 ft on the RVR mins for takeoff at certain airports (SEA, SLC, etc) down to 300 RVR. Are there other operators out there doing 300 RVR takeoffs without HUDs?

That's interesting - We were sitting waiting for 600RVR and SWA took off at 500RVR . Another mystery solved.
