What does a 2 yr mesa rightseater make?

2nd Year FO Pay

Here are the rates for a 2nd year FO:

0-19 TP $20.39
20-74 TP $20.39
50-59 Jet $27.42
60-76 Jet $27.42
77-<86 K lbs. $27.42

Also, to correct a previous post, after 5 years pilots get 3 weeks vacation. After 20 years, it goes to 4 weeks.

Sick time is accrued per bid period (28 days) and increases as longevity does:
1st year - 1.4/bid or 18.2 for the year.
2-4 year - 2/bid or 26 for the year.
5-up - 2.5/bid or 32.5 for the year.

70 hr guarantee per bid, or 910 for the year.

Just as a frame of reference....ASA's contract was signed in 1998 and a second year E120 FO makes $26.75. That's about 67 cents per hour less than a 2nd year CRJ-900 FO at Mesa (carrying 3 times the number of pax). That's pretty sad.

no offense e120

a contract from 1998 (when you could've been hired as an fo with 300hrs) and 2002 (when you can't get hired with 4000hrs) is a BIT of a difference.

economics seem to drive labor negotiations....mesa was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

stop making fun of mesa are you kidding me? how can you sit their and tell us you are not the cause of all our problems you guys are...... No block or better in your contract are you kidding me? Boy it must be fun to sit in a deice line for hours and not get an extra. Nine days off on reserve? you might as well have a real job. Mesa sucks and there is no other arugement you guys buckled and voted yes on a crap ass contract. why dont you grow some balls and say hey we voted yes and now we have to live with it. Face it mesa will be bashed until they get a better contract. Like others have said who cares about a per hour pay rate when you have crap work rules. Oh and one more thing tell your F/A's that the jokes they try and tell during the safety demo suck and it makes them and your airline look even dumber. that is all i am tired and need sleep. I will bash you more tomorrow.

G-Dmn it you guys!!!

Get your F*cking Facts Straight!!!

MESA DID NOT ACCEPT LESS TO FLY RJ's. EVERY SECTION OF THEIR CONTRACT WAS AN IMPROVEMENT EXCEPT MINIMUM BID GUARANTEE!!! EVERY GD'mn SECTION!!! I AM SO TIRED OF YOU A$$HOLES BLAMING YOUR LOT IN LIFE ON MESA!!! AT LEAST GET THE RIGHT INFORMATION!!! THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR COUNTRY! WE ALWAYS WANT TO "BLAME" SOMEONE ELSE FOR OUR TROUBLES!!!!

Jesus Christ you guys! I don't have a problem with you accusing us of not "holding the line" and getting what Air Wisconsin or someone else has, but for crying out loud! Stop this Bull$hit about saying and accusing us of taking a lower wage! We improved our wages..not much, but they improved...especially consdidering we are bumping up against America West Captain pay and we are only flying RJs!!!!

Almost every pilot I know has a college degree. And almost every degree I've heard of requires some sort of economics/finance class.

Was everyone who posts on this board asleep during these classes?

While I hope and wish the best for ACA, I suspect a lot of pilots are ignoring the glaring financial implications of their decision and the tough, but not impossible road ahead. High ASMs on the RJ are killer. Tough gig without revenue guarantee.

Supply and demand baby, supply and demand.

The plebe

How many time do you need to be told that you have given your right to talk up when you voted yes.

I dont even kow where to start. First off...

If you guys have pilots that work for JO and YOUR SH1TTY airline for 20 years than you all deserve each other. And I cant believe your sick time is that bad. Most other companies acrue around 60 hours a year. INCLUDING 1st YEAR.

Jesus the more I know the more I hate you all.

skootertrash,

You have to remember several things, first off, what colors do you fly on your airplane?? How stable is the company your working under? Do you honestly think, even with a strike, mesa's contract had any possibility of comming close to comairs? I voted no for a number of reasons(block/better, nothing improving schedules/per diem/usair j4j guys make top pay, cant give F/O's a raise, and freedom would not have taken over with the 7 or so airplanes they had). Not to mention our MEC "ALPA" fed the group a load of **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**. So with all the bashing, i understand how you feel and i too feel we lost out and caved in( I HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT!), but we would have never walked out with a contract near yours.

By the way, i think its Airlinepilotcontracts.com (might be wrong) has several contracts to view. comair/asa/eagle/mesa/coex. I wish our MEC would have shown the group other contracts to make them more aware of what we dont have( everything).

ridethelighting you are right we dont work at MESA, however thanks to your contract our companies come to us and say but MESA only gets nine day off why should we give you ten, but MESA does not have block or better so why should you... You see what you do to the rest of us. Your contract sucks and it makes all of ours worse when it is time to negotiate or take concessions. oh and one more thing tell your friends when you land in PIT on 32 not to fricking stop on taxiway Echo before calling ground just taxi down it, thanks to your ignorance the plane that landed after tried to exit on Echo got stuck and we had to go around. The only good thing is we get block or better so going around was no big deal....... I hope next time your contract comes up in 2035 or whatever it is that you grow a set of balls and at least get industry standards.

TuffGuy,

If your ba11s are as big as you suggest, then what do you care if your company comes to you waving Mesa's contract? Just bust those big ba11s out and tell them to go f*ck themselves. Right? Right.

Just like those other tough talkers did when it was their turn in the barrel. Eh WD and your buddies?

I think when people are "accusing you of taking a lower wage" I think they are referring to industry standard wage not to what you are currently getting paid.

Taking lower wages???

Like flying former Mailine routes with RJ's etc????? I love this argument......FYI, 2 days ago I was told to STOP taxiing down Taxiway Echo after landing on RWY32....any more advice that is against the AIM, Mr. Lindberg?

day off issues

my understading from a couple mesa people that i've talked to...

a day off consists of a 24 hours period
ie:

you go off duty at 1330 on say a tuesday, and you have a 1500 show on wednesday, that constitutes a day off, now that sucks a$$, dunno if that was the case before this new contract or it actually is something new, but its those kinds of things that other regionals have rubbed in their faces, not necesarily pay rates.

just my .02
