Could someone affirm for me...I've recently moved and the old non-current FAR/AIM is buried in boxes somewhere.
If one takes the ATP written, obtains work at a 121 carrier before it expires, then written expires (after 2 years), and pilot has stayed at same 121 carrier and not been furloughed but has not upgraded...can this pilot use that atp written to take an atp ride with a designated examiner outside of his 121 company. In other words, say this pilot wants to pay to get his atp at a flight school and not wait for the upgrade ride...can he still use that expired atp written, or does he have to do his check ride as a captain upgrade/type ride with the 121 carrier OR take the written over again?
