I agree with your statement, but I don't want to be naive to the realities of the airline industry. Many great airlines that had pilots with a similar success story as yours ended their career not at the same airline. For the past 20 years SW has treated you great and I hope SW has at least 20 more successful years ahead. Funny enough, if this deal goes through, I need 30+ years of SW success. That is A LOT of years....I'm just saying the best one decade can be the worst the next. More reasons to have this merger (yes the SEC filing on 2/1/11 by SW used the word merger hundreds of times and acquisition only a few) be a successful one with the revenue synergies achieved in the quickest possible time.

No kidding. Some forget that much of that success was based on a lucky bet 2 guys made about 10 years ago. They even admit as much. And yet doods who somehow think they were a part of that decision still think otherwise. Had that "lucky bet" not been made, most of the wn posters here would have different avatars. Just sayin'

Honest question: Why is arbitration a good idea? I hear things like: fair, deserve, Bond-Mckaskil, etc... The bottom line with arbitration is that no one knows what the heck will happen. So why gamble on a lawyer ruling for your team? ATN is sure arbitration will go to some kind of relative seniority. SWA is sure arbitration will end up in DOH or less. Explain.

I hope you don't fly anytime soon after hitting the bong. Are you high? No SWA pilot is hoping for anything near DOH. I mean no offense, but let's see, I got hired at SWA on date X and you got hired at AT on date X (same DOH). Back then, and even a few months ago, everyone would agree that you'd rather be at SWA, making my pay, with my contract, etc. Just go back a year ago and read the AT posts on this forum. Just look at all of the AT guys we had applying here, and are currently flying here. Clearly, even guys way junior to me at SWA had it better than you at AT (no offense, just the facts). DOH would be a screw job, and ain't gonna happen, even in arbitration. Relative? You've got to be smoking crack. Even at the bottom of our list, pay protected, most if not all AT pilots come out ahead. That's why the ones who could get hired here left AT and did just that. Not even pay protected they chose to jump ship. DOH would be an absolute windfall to AT pilots, which is not legal. I agree though, arbitration it will be in all likelihood.

If the whole thing falls apart, I think it's safe to say that it was the AirTran side, more specially AirTran ALPA. What a shame, senior AirTran guys ruining it for everybody. Just like I predicted from the very beginning.

Air tran still very much has a say in their destiny. Attitude is a lot.

Bob, you are Spot on

The ALPA job killing machine never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity, if this deal goes south it will be because of the small group of hard core senior ALPA wackos that think they are entitled to what is not theirs.

If the citrus guys do not get a muzzle and a very short leash on the ALPA attack dogs this deal may go south quick.

Cheers

As long as Ty and his followers continue down the road they are on, ALPA will survive. It will take the junior pilots to start to take control of their destiny. This group that follows people like Ty has been the problem for many years. They will poison SWA if and when they get a chance. The only good thing is there are only 1700 of them compared to 6000 with SWA. Good luck. All the employee groups would like to see this group changed.

Do you even realize that our MEC Chairman, MEC Vice Chairman, and LEC Chairman are all FO's, and have been, ever since ALPA was voted on the property?

Why don't you stick to what you know . . . . alienating pax and making up delay codes.
