A Bonanza went in this afternoon within a couple miles of ACY. Seems like he was trying to get into Baider Field but couldn't. The weather was about 2 in mist and 300 over. I'm assuming he couldn't complete the approach in Baider and was looking for help with AC Approach because thats when we heard him on the frequency, we were inbound to ACY from the north. He sounded a bit unsure of what he wanted to do and it seemed like he was in over his head. We wound up switchin to tower and about 45 minutes later, watching TV in the pilot lounge, saw the accident on the News. It was reported that he was the only one onboard.

God bless the family and friends.

Not much to say about the guy, but I've been there..........thinking it was going to be "nice" everywhere and you find out it's not!

NOW: where are my charts, my Low altitudes, my cloud-o-meter from sportys, and you kinda just freak out not really knowing how much you really know............until you realize you should have just gotten that wx brief or not peeked over your foggles during INST. training.

This is a really sad accident, because I bet he was sooo, scared up until the point of contact. We have all been where he was at one point, and I bet he did his best!

Stay safe all, L
