just write it out like a metar... that is what it is after all.

Atis information Alpha time 2155 Zulu, winds 270 at 8 knots, visibility 3 statute miles, skies few at one thousand, broken at two thouand, temparture 7, dew point 4, ALTIMETER 29.92, ILS runway 26 approach in use. NOTAMS, birds in the vicinity, read back all hold short clearances, advise on initial contact you have information Alpha.

A 2155 270/08 3 FEW010 BKN020 7/m4 2992 ILS 26

A 2155 270/08 3 FEW010 BKN020 7/m4 2992 ILS 26

That can still be shortened;

2155? They are all at 55 or so after the hour...21 works. If it's a special just write the whole time, say 2124

270/08? You don't need the zero before the 8. 270/8 will do

3? Okay, that's good!

FEW010? You don't need FEW or the zero before the 10. Just use a circle with a horiz line for few, circle with a vert line for scattered, circle with two vert lines for broken and a circle with an x for overcast. O- (put 'em together) to read O-10.

BKN020? Again, see above. Oll 20 will do just fine.

7/m4? a - is way easier than an m. 7/-4 is quicker.

2992? Drop the first two. 992 conveys the idea. It couldn't possibly be 3992 could it?

ILS 26? Drop the "LS" I26 is fine.

Now it reads;

21 A 270/8 3 O-10, Oll 20, 7/-4, 992 I26, VVV

(I still like the birds! Adds pazzaz...)
