Is ATA still hiring?

Is ATA still hiring? I got an application and returned it a couple of months ago. I retired from the military in March and would truly like to get with a company I can stay with. Any idea how long after you submit your application until an interview date? Obviously some of you heavy drivers are sittin in a pool.

Mulcahy,

I was just wondering who you are "tredding water" with? I didn't see your name on the SWA Poolie list. Just curious what other pools are going on besides FedEx, UPS and SWA. Just wondering!

ATA is currently interviewing and has a small pool of pilots waiting for a class date.

To answer bothfly's thread starting question, here are the pay rates for FO and Captain at various longevity steps and for the effective date of the new contract. I assumed (I never should of course) that you work for SWA judging from the models of 737s that you've flown, so I've only given 737 rates. 757 rates are nearly the same as those for the 737 for the first three years of the contract, and are the same effective 2005. L1011 rates are 10% higher than 757 rates.

FO, 737

Longevity Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Year 6
July 2002 36.00 58.14 64.73 71.46 78.26 80.47
July 2003 37.50 63.40 70.59 77.93 85.35 87.76
July 2004 39.00 69.28 77.13 85.15 93.26 95.89
July 2005 40.50 77.30 86.06 95.01 104.06 106.99

Captain, 737

Longevity Year 5 Year 7 Year 9 Year 11 Year 12 and Over
July 2002 120.41 123.31 126.14 130.90 134.80
July 2003 131.32 134.48 137.57 144.50 145.25
July 2004 143.48 146.94 150.31 153.65 155.33
July 2005 160.09 163.96 169.94 181.83 187.24

Good post Brad. I think you answered the first question perfectly. I had those numbers but not being an actual employee, YET, I hesitated to post them. See you on the line soon.

To those applying, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months for an interview date depending on your qualifications and who, if anyone, is working your application within the company. This is my opinion from what I have seen personally. I was lucky enough to have a former DO of mine hand walk my package to the regional chief pilot who then walked it to the system chief pilot. I got a call for an interview in less than a month. Some people I interviewed with who knew no one in the company but had good flying backgrounds waited over a year. Of course much of that year ATA was not interviewing. My suggestion would be to hang in there and work your network. Maybe you have a friend of a friend of a friend who knows someone at ATA if you get my drift. Try to get a call through to this person and have them check on your stuff. Do be aware that especially in light of the industry now they have tons of applications so just keep the faith and good luck.

Anyone know how many are in the "pool". I know that they are starting a 737 class next week and a L1011 class 10/07. Also, interviews are scheduled for next week. I interviewed in August and just waiting for a class date. Trying to figure out if I should apply for a Santa position this Christmas or not. Thanks and Good Luck.

sayagain?

I don't know for sure but I think the pool is very small. I would think you will be in the next class after the two you mentioned. Don't know when that will be but I think Christmas may come very early for you my friend.

Race-

Yes, Christmas came early this year. After I placed my last post, I received the "call". I'll be in the 737-800 class starting October 7th. Guess we'll be going through indoc together. In fact, the L1011 and 737 training is done in Atlanta.

See you in IND!

sayagain? ;)

Congratulations!!!!! I'll see you there. I'll be wearing a Roush Racing shirt. ;)

A bit off topic (and in the wrong section, I know) but while you're on the subject of pay scales, anyone know where I can find said scales for regional airlines? (the air, inc. site doesn't include any in their listing) thanks..
