From what I hear, either way is fine. I hand wrote mine, and believe me, I don't have the best handwriting. I worked very hard to make it readable, and I think it was. The way that app is constructed, I just couldn't see it being able to withstand being run back and forth through a typewriter multiple times, plus I didn't have one. I've been told since that I'm in the "still under consideration" pile so I know they didn't trash it right away. I didn't recieve any post card but they cashed my check. Both of my friends flying over there love it. One is 737, the other is 757. Good luck to everyone!

My app. was handwritten with a good pen in black ink, I have been told that they prefer handwritten, but who knows.
My essay questions were short and sweet some being a paragraph in length others just a few sentences, they were honest and and I didnt lay it on to thick.
I think that is why I got a call for a int.

ATA postcard

I was just wondering if everyone who applied recieved a card stating " under active consideration" or does it mean I have hope of being in the competitive pile? I had an LOR, hand wrote the app and typed the essays. My experience falls in about the average catagory, so if anyone has any input I would sure appreciate it. Congrats to the ones who got the call and good luck to the rest of us.....

I sent in a typed app in late Dec. with two letters of Rec. I received a postcard last week with the active consideration stamp. My understanding is that they are really starting to get the interview process moving over the next couple of months.

Greetings gentlemen,

I sent my app in early November and received the under active review postcard shortly after. Oddly enough, I just received another app in the mail the other day. Does anyone have any insight as to what this means? If it is a clerical error I wonder if there is a way to verify or do I have to fill the app out again and reapply?

As a side note, I typed mine but I had a friend who hand wrote his and was hired.

So, that would make the odds roughly 1 in 3 will get hired.. Still better than Vegas! Haven't heard anything either. Sent my app in Dec. and got the postcard back a week later.

Don't bet on it, pun intended. I would say odds have little to do with it. Get some interview prep and make it a slam dunk. Don't think about the competition, you are competitive if called for the interview.

BTW, if the odds were 1 in 3 in Vegas the Hotels would be bigger

It means that they are interested in you. Fill out the new app (don't worry about using the same answers to the interview questions, but make sure any job history is brought up to date) and send it back in. Just make sure the app will be legible to apathetic office personnel.

I haven't seen the quarterly and yearly numbers for ATA yet. How does the financial situation and stability look from anyone who works there now? Thanks for any info.

I just saw a new interview posted on aviationinterviews.com from the 19th for ATA. Guess airtrim wasn't the only one that got interviewed last week. Anyone else get called lately? Anyone? Bueller?
