Ok, this will be last time we fractional ownership loonies beat up Flight Options for their sanitized "bon voyage" party for John Nahill. The poor guy was probably dumped in the cockpit and a quick glide calculation told him that not only was he not going to make the airport, but he was about to go for a swim.

Pursuing other interests and not being reachable for comment are arguably standard indicator signs for getting an F on your report card, no matter how irrational and chemically imbalanced the teacher is. On the other hand shovelling money into a fireplace while trumpeting your firms marketshare is bound to get someone's attention.

Raytheon may feel like the older brother who takes on the liabilities of the jailbound sibling that has been jumping into fiery burning pits with armfuls of other people's cash.

It is painful, it hurts, and there is lots of yelling, screaming and crying, but these are just some of things we love and hold dear as family.

Normally PR is not welcome on these pages, but this one has fractional ownership gurus stumped.

Why trumpet a card that earns the aircraft management company revenue, potentially at the expense of owners as the aircraft depreciate more rapidly through increased utilization?

Or put another way, why own a share, when you can just rent the bloody thing? More to follow on this topic as we query the forums.

ASAP Flight Deck is a double entendre of sorts. Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots is the official acronym, but "ASAPing here and there" is very much part of a fractional ownership pilot's life.

Their website will have the news as it unfolds with respect to pilot union relations and the management at fractional firms.

The focus, so far, appears to be on making a direct appeal to NetJets and Marquis program members.

The bonehead is you "hawkercpt". It's hard to believe that we still have "boneheads like you that don't see how badly we need a contract at FO. The only pilots we have that would take such a negative view of us organizing, are the ones that have their heads up management’s arss for their own benefit.

It took me two years to get to the point that I understand our need, but it's crystal clear now. And with 135 and all the inevitable screw ups that are coming, I for one don't what to be standing their by my self with management pointing their finger at me for their own stupidity, looking for someone to be the fall guy.

As far as 135, this company is going to have a giant drag shut come out in about 9 days. The only thing we can do is CYA. At least we now will have a set of rules, not "guidelines" that can be changed at the companys whim. There's no more "can you help us out?" going on. It's black and white what you can and can't do.
Where a contract will help is in the consistant nit picking they are doing to our quality of life. On the road and at home.

Drag Shut in Nine Days?

Does the Flight Options maintenance department provide a maintenance release for each leg? Is the pilot in command informed of cycles remaining/landing remaing, next inspection date and type, engine and APU hours remaining til next inspection, MEL screen and expiration date? If so, good. If not, bad!!

How does Flight Options track 135 duty time?

Yes, its all in the ubiquitous dingleberries.

Duty time is tracked through the wog. Duty starts automatically 1 hr prior to the first flight and ends 1 hr after your last landing. If you need to change duty time for some reason you call dispatch and tell them when your off/on times are and why.

The problem is with scheduling, not the MX. They have consistantly shown an in-ability to do their job efficiently. Should be interesting to see how they adjust. Goog thing i'm off though.

Your statement regarding scheduling is too broad. You hit the target but missed the bullseye.

Scheduling's management team consistently turned a deaf ear to potential
problems, one of those problems being duty time issues. There were
numerous times I can recall a crew called in, exactly as they should have,
to report a duty time issue. For our discourse the specific problem is not
important, they just had an issue of some type (we all know duty time
issues can be quite wide ranging from FBO problems, hangar issues, cleaning,
maintenance, etc.). The scheduler dutifully placed a note in the grid or
informed supervisors. Quite often (and I have firsthand knowledge and
experience on this!) that scheduler was told words to the effect of, "We
need that plane and crew. I don't care, they were on the ground at XX:XX
and their 10 hours (or 12 on the ground) starts right then."

I contest the row scheduler was often stuck between pilot - management
interpretation of the rules. I'm not excusing schedulers who did not act
appropriately or who disregarded duty time issues... I'm just saying this
used to happen ---- A LOT!

If anyone thinks that the maintenance information provided on the BB is enough to keep the FAA Inspector off your back, think again. Put your faith and trust in the BB if you like, it is your call, but, I suggest you call maintenance at least once every day to confirm the maintenance status of you aircraft and inspection cycle.

I may have misinterpreted you post but I think most that read it would assume it a negative and derogatory response to "Luvu" and his attempts to get out the word. Personally I don’t care if he starts a string that he is the only one to post on as long as the information posted informs one more pilot that needs to hear the word, no mater how redundant it seem to you.

Don't know what you think I have figured out...

As far as organizing goes, been hearing about it for over 2 years now...
haven't heard boo in at least 6 months. Believe me, if an organization attempt were made now, I would have a hard time believing it wouldn't go through now. with all of the crap management has been pulling and the whispers of things to come, we all would be foolish not to look for some kind of protection.

We need help guys. Ain't the same company we came into several years ago, that's for shure.

The organizing drive HAS BEGUN!

Follow this link to instructions on printing out your Signature Cards and mailing them to Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots. They will collect cards and send them to D.C. with an election petition as soon as they are all collected.

They are looking for 90% plus participation on this within the next 10 days so print multiple cards out and be a part of the distribution and collection team.

If successful, the pilots will have achieved Status Quo within a few short weeks and the bleeding on pay, benefits, working conditions will stop under the law.

The card is the Representation Authorization And Request For An Employee Election Under The Railway Labor Act. It is the same card that you can download from the IBT Airline Division Website. The difference is that you send it to:
