ASA UAX Performance

More than mechanics, the problem is no parts. That is what they have told me. You can have a huge staff of mechanics, but there are no parts up there so they can't fix anything.

Yeah... Ish... but I've had a LONG time waiting for a mechanic to come to the AC and then sign something off, not because it was something that we couldn't go with, but because I couldn't sign it off. Needed a mechanic to do it. After about 10pm (this night) there was 1 there, and 3 AC down.

Parts and hangar space! Anything big that needs to be done indoors has to go down to CAE or ATL... they're running IAD on bare bones nickel and dimeing (sp?) everything and UAX peeps are gonna notice.

Lines suck, airplanes suck, no parts, mechanics are run ragged, not enough mechanics, not enough pilots...
 
Bingo! So the next time an airline has flying to award, what are the chance ASA gets any after this??? Our big chance to branch out into another partner, and this is how we handle it????? Way to go!

The chances are just fine. THere are plenty of airlines with less than stellar performance who've been awarded contracts. Colgan for instance, not great numbers, a crash yet still get additional flying.

XJT had great numbers, yet CAL cut us...too expenshive (in Larry's words).
 
The ALPA board is internal to ASA pilots, and its where it should be posted, not anonymous for the public to see.

The public already knows our performance is aweful.........all you have to do is book as a passenger on one of our UEX flights and you get first hand knowledge for yourself. This system has turned into a MASSIVE embarassment. The passengers hate us, the gate agents hate us, and the management at United has to be noticing.

Actually, I don't think we are understaffed in Dulles.....in fact, I think we have PLENTY of pilots, or may be overstaffed. They are able to take pilots from our BROKEN airplanes and reroute them on the ones that work. Simply brilliant- down half the fleet and you have twice the pilots you truly need!
 
ASA has now missed their Level A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z performance goals. For the 1st time since Mesa got the boot UAL management has to pull out the Greek Alphabet performance level goals! You guys think we'll make our Level Zeta goal?

You guys don't get it. The airlines make public lip service about quality but really all they care about is who's cheapest.

You're also forgetting that SkyWest Inc. secured this flying with an $88 million dollar loan to UAL at 11% interest over 5 years. ASA isn't going anywhere!
 
ASA's not going anywhere. But, they probably will turn all UALX flying over to the new ERJ side, pulling out the 14 CRJ's.
 
Quit Bashing Mesa

Is a complete embarrassment to the company. For Dec we missed our A, B, and C performance levels. That is Mesa like performance. Are we not maintaining these planes well enough that they keep breaking the way the are? Our 'performance sucks because of ATL' argument has gone out the window. Hopefully its just a case of one bad month.


For the record Mesa has achieved "Triple - A" performance on UAL for 7 of the last 8 months. The performance categories are: UP scrores, D-0 and CCF.

Mesa according to the DOT is also the #1 regional in fewest complaints, fewest mishandled bags, and arrivals within 14 minutes. They have achieved this performance for 9 of the last 12 months.

Oh, and by the way Mesa has been the number 1 carrier for Airways for 20 of the past 24 months.

So, please quit bashing Mesa, they are a top performing regional airline and have been for over a year.
