This is a portion or an e-mail that was just sent out through ourASA........I have edited most of it.........

New items have been activated within ourASA today for pilots and Flight Attendants. These items will not directly affect your day-to-day position; however, they should assist in some of your functions.

The following new selections..............
  • Accommodations.......................
  • Crew Info page............
  • Domicile Info
    • Contains data that is domicile specific such as:
      • Lounge codes
      • Office numbers
    Reserve Codes..............
  • Crew Resources Extension................
You wanted a rumor about domiciles, we have a single domicile. Now the e-mail says Domicile specific. These people aren't quick enough to catch these types of slips.

keep the rumor alive I like it!!!!:pimp:

Could just mean info specific to our ATL Domicile.

Delta now controls our baggage, gates, schedules, routes, reservations, connections, etc. The only thing ASA does is provide pilots to fly the people from point A to point B. The Big D can no longer blame ASA or SKYW for their crappy performance.
Maybe... maybe not. When Delta routinely turns a MD88 in 30 to 40 minutes and it takes longer to turn a CRJ with one third the load, something is causing a problem.

My guess is that the new jetways on C and resulting reduction in situations where one team handling is multiple flights simultaneously will help a lot.

The question becomes, will outsourcing continue to make as much sense to Delta when the costs of handling a ERJ145, or 200 are identical to a narrow body domestic jet up to a 757? In many cases the costs are higher, as I often see RJ's on the APU the entire time they are on the ground.

Delta has done a lot to improve their operation, but not nearly as much to improve DCI. At the same time ASA's claim to fame has always been to achieve incredible economy through cutting corners and understaffing. As Delta takes over more of the operation those "advantages" disappear.

General is correct about some 50 seaters coming out of the market. Cities like VLD, CSG, MCN, were never suited to CRJ operations. I think cities like SAT, MCO, JFK and CYUL are beginning not to make sense either. The 700/900 with First Class is a better product and very competitive with the MD88 if an economic down turn results in some of the JT8D powered airplanes heading to the desert. Delta does not want the debt for new airplanes on its books. Delta thinks the E170/190, all versions of the CRJ, and 737 are rapidly approaching obsolescence. The MD88's and 90's are already past their day. When Airbus, or Boeing, builds their new generation plastic 737 or A320, then you will see some huge re-fleeting of the US domestic airlines, if the airlines can afford them.

The 757 is the airplane for right now. It was designed for $3.00 a gallon jet fuel in the 1980's, but gas got cheaper and Boeings customers went bankrupt. It does everything with the lowest seat mile costs of any aircraft. (very close if not absolute) Every airline on the planet wants them right now.

It is not a matter of feed. Delta is not ignoring it's domestic feed. By the numbers, Delta has more feed than it ever has. It is a matter of economics and the more people you can get on an airplane the lower the fuel burn is per seat. Of course, too big an airplane is a bigger problem than too small an airplane.

The airplanes are going to shift to the largest allowed by scope, but the fleet numbers are going to get smaller.

Well, of course it would be domicile specific since we have only one. Why would they have to SPELL out for us that it would be domicile specific? Of course the best arguement on the other side is that these people aren't exactly the masters of the obvious. I think all these memo's that are distributed are very carefully worded. On the other side is the micro managing, nothing is ever a coincidence, people who are the real power at ASA, meaning SKYW Inc! These are not stupid people. Just watch the stock after mid Jan. Traditionally it goes down and bottoms around July. Then it climbs till Nov- Jan. This is where they make their money!

Sorry, no beef with you. Just wondering what "ASA" is.... Just tired of the shell game that we all are in.

The whole OurASA website was copied from what Skywest has almost exactly. We don't have everything they have yet, but apparently we are getting more and more tabs to click on. The Domicile specific info makes sense considering Skywest has like 30 domiciles.

Im losing something with the lack of hearing you actually say this question. I dont understand the "what is ASA" .

Guess it is the ramblings of a madman. Back in the day, ASA had its own routes, developed by its own marketing department, flown with airplanes it owned, financed in part by the shareholders of the Company and flown by passengers holding ASA tickets.

None of that stuff seems to exist anymore. When I hear about Jerry putting airplanes one place or the other, I think about Enron protecting money from JEDI in the ChewCo account.

Wow, I thought I was the only one to RANT. Sheez. When again will we give more concessions on scope? If we have to go BK again, anything is possible--ask the Comair guys who lost 50 RJs in BK. Highly doubtful we will go BK again, unless Mars Attacks! or another 9-11. So, I think we won't be backed into the corner like we were, which means we won't have to do anything. If you still want to think about flying 100 seaters, go to USAir, they are hiring on the E190. I bet you would love it in PHL. Reading your posts on here, you would flunk the Delta Psych exam quickly, and probably the cog test too. And, we are getting more narrowbody feed ourselves in 08--9 MD90s and 7 737-700s. You must not have heard? But you did hear about the CR7s SkyWest is getting for United (22), right? What about the 4 CR9s they are getting for us? Didn't you say ASA was going to do some United flying? Are you ever wrong? I think so.

Bye Bye--General Lee

You're right, General. I WOULD fail the psych test. I'd have to be friggin nuts to think I could be another arrogant Double Breasted C*%& Sucker like you and your squadron buddies. No thanks. Hate to break it to you, but if DAL went out of business, the sun would still come up in the morning. The universe does not revolve around Delta or your cranium. Actually, it would be fine with me if Delta did go out of business. Unlike you, I have no vested interest. I could easily find another job with comparable pay and time off. But I don't because this one is easier. For now. Can you say the same?

But glad to see you "don't care what anyone thinks". That's why I can always bait you into a response.

I go fishing every morning. Sometimes I catch the little one, sometimes I catch the big one, and sometimes I catch The General.

I second that about General Irrelevant.

And back to the original question, I predict ASA will be flying out of at least one, and maybe two United hubs before 2008 is over. Most likely IAD, and possibly ORD.

Mesa is on the verge of implosion, and UAL will dump them (for a second time). UAL lifted the no-compete clause, so Skywest can fly for both UAL and DAL in LAX. SkyWest Inc will take over Mesa's UAL flying... SkyWest Airlines will move back to the Left Coast and ASA will cover all SkyWest Inc flying east of the Mississippi.

Personally, I enjoy what the General has to say. It's to bad he's not a 73 driver. I'd be a hoot to be on his J/S.
I am curious though why DAL necessarily would choose OO over XE (XJT) for the LAX ops? A few of us are worried about the short contract in LAX. Input General?
