I am on the fence - leaning more toward a no vote. But then I too have my moments of apathy and think just vote yes and get this over with.

This is the reality of the vote. Apathy will prevail. 60-65% will vote yes just to have it over. Not to mention the dangling of a check right before Christmas.

I am voting no!

Don't you think it would be best to keep our personal feelings and discussions about the TA on the ALPA discussion board? Some matters are best kept in the family.

But give details..don't say language or commuter clause? I have ask several people details and they ramble about a few things, that amount to NOTHING!

Voting yes here in less than 24 hours and know alot more yes than nos.

Here ya go:
Pay cuts for the 44 hardest working pilots in the company. So much for no pilot left behind.
A commuter clause that leaves out ATL based pilots commuting in from vacation.
Integration.
Floating days off on reserve.
Reserve lines should be full-month schedules, not six hard days off with the rest plugged in at skds discretion.
There should be 12 days off always.
Reserve call up is not seniority based for no-preference.
No PTO days.
Restrictions on trip drops.
Reserves can't pick up trips.
The signing bonus is half of what we lost over the last five years.

There's more, but that's what I come with in about 10 seconds.

I'm sitting on the fence as well- but am leaning more toward a yes vote. I'm not sure how much more we would get if we cast it off to further ratification anyway. At least it is a start and a strong foothold for another round of bargaining three years down the road.

Who are the 44 hardest working pilots in the company? Have you been to a roadshow?

Maybe I could just say the 44 pilots who will be working harder for less in the new contract. I don't need a road show to know I'm getting a pay cut. That's enough for a no-vote by itself.

how are you getting a pay cut, bonus (file tax exmept for two weeks and keep for a little while longer), profit sharing every three months most likely, 401k dep. every month? And let CAL Express and Comair and Republic Holdings all have to NEG> a new contract in the next two years.

When do you think this would be settled if voted down? 2 years?

I just voted YES. I have read the contract and most of it makes sense except for the commuter clause. That could use some work.

The TA overall is good! Are there things I don't like? sure.... I would rather have a trip rig over a min. day, among other things. Is it a vast improvement (as a whole) over what we currently have? absolutely!!!
If you have not been to a roadshow and had these things explained by the people who lived and breathed every angle of this contract for years then don't blow smoke on this board for the world to see. It has quality of life and money. The money is not just there in the compensation columns! As far as the 44 hardest working guys at the company are concerned, I know alot of them and they're great guys. The situation is still a much better deal than the stndard line guy has. And for the 1 out of 44 that is obviously the hardest worker of all, don't belittle the other 1700 of us. You're there for us, not the other way around. I'm voting YES!

Whew, I was starting to worry about you ASA guys...hadn't seen an ASA thread in weeks.

Glad to know you're all ok!

What's up Wally? Yes, we're ok, thanks for asking. I'm not sure what is going to happen to FI though. It sure is strange logging on here now and not seeing 7 or 8 ASA threads on the first page. Kind of boring personally.

Oh well. How's your sister XPOO doing?

It's kinda like being in the Twilight Zone without the 7 or 8 ASA threads.

Haven't talked to XPOO in a while, so not a clue.

Seriously, though...best of luck to you guys with the TA. Hope it turns out to be all you want it to be.

You obviously haven't read the TA. We are returning to the line with the new contract.

If you're doing ANY type of training because its more money, YOU'RE DOING IT FOR THE WRONG REASONS ANYWAY!!!!! Please do all of us a favor and go back to the line....
