Why is there low work ethic in ATL among the rampers, and say not in CVG with Comair. Why are they happy, and ASA not? I assume they get paid about the same amount of money.

Demographics.

Y'all must realize that ASA doesn't give a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** about presenting a good product to the consumer. ASA has always ridden on the coat tails of Delta, and will for the forseeable future. If this airline were to go it alone, it would fail miserably. Hopefully this new publicity will raise eyebrows at DCI, and let ASA management know to shape up or ship out.

Do you have the vision....?

Hey....don't be knockin ASA as a whole. I would say there flight ops is among the best in the buisness. They work hard to keep ASA going, and they are very professional. If only this attitude could rub off onto the ground crew well then ASA would be #1

Just my 0.02 cents

Don't limit that to ground crews...... The hard work of the flight ops people needs to rub off on everybody else. It's not a coincidence that the pilots and flight attendants are the ONLY people at ASA held accountable for anything and that they're also the ONLY people at ASA who do their jobs worth a sh!t.

The ASA flight crews are the most stand up group of people that I have been aquainted with. They always do there best to help the airline, and its time DCI reconizes that. They should stop blaming the pilots and start looking at the rest of the operation. I know more than a few pilots at ASA who have gone above and beyond there line of duty.

ya try to say somethin positive, but instead get slammed for it. Im am new to this board, but I just happen to have a special interest in the Delta and ASA threads, so that would be a hint why I mainly respond them. Im just hear trying to learn more like the rest of you. If I have offended anyone I apologize. I just want to see the best for ASA and the entire Delta family.

Ace,

Don't take it personally--a lot of us (mainly me) get slammed all of the time. If you have a question or an opinion, I think you are entitled to express it here---this is an open forum last time I checked.

Bye Bye--General Lee

PS--I heard ASA was called Atlanta Satanic Air---but that was from a Comair guy who called himself--Condom Air--Delta Protection:)

I don't know if they have the slogan "AIM FOR ZERO" painted on the wall in ATL, but I know they do in DFW. I know it stands for delays, mishandled bags, accidents, BUT.....

Perhaps it's time for a new slogan?

You can't expect employees to treat customers any better than management treats the employees. If you have rude crappy customer service agents its likely they hate their jobs and are treated like crap by management. Give them a raise and a happy working environment and the employees will treat the customers well because the employees will be happy.

But then again I guess if they did that the ticket prices would go up ten cents and consumers would fly the cheaper airline.

So you guys who are in the know (I’m not) are ticket prices lower now thanks to a cheaper contract at Mesa?

On a side note, I flew ASA this weekend and thought the FA looked about as unhappy as could be. She didn’t crack a single smile the whole time. The Delta Flight attendants seemed much friendlier. While I’m at it, 2 hours in a regional jet stinks! What a miserable way to travel.

Boo Hoo Ralph. If we knew you were coming, we have rolled out the DC-10 for you.

Ralph,

Most of the nice and cute delta flight attendants have already been furloughed. The senior ones have very little retirement (something that could have been worked out had they brought the AFA union in...) and stay forever. I am sure Delta management would offer them better retirement if they could get it out of the pilots' wages.

You are right about the longer flights in the RJ's---they aren't as comfortable--it is just the truth. I think Delta has started to realize this, from numerous complaints from their billion-milers, and I have heard they probably will remove 9 737-200's from the desert some time soon---with first class seats for those guys to upgrade to. But, we have parked a lot of planes (all of the 727s, 11 of the MD-11s, and the L1011's) and to keep some market presence--we have to fly RJs on the routes. I have heard the 70 seat RJs are a little nicer than the 50 seaters--and hopefully you can choose to fly those if they are the only planes on those routes. I would write Delta and express you displeasure--and it might eventually help.

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:
