Is it just coincidence that ASA's effective date for it's most recent position notice (upgrades & recalls) happens to coincide perfectly with the Sep 1st date for Comair base closures in NY and other DCI base shuffling?

What the heck is Delta up to?

This implies a level of coordination that I just haven't seen yet...

Preparing for contract time?

Coming up on contract time here at Comair (March 2011). Mesaba's is amendable soon isn't it? And Pinnacle has been going at it for 5 years. When is ASA's amendable?

Vac bid extended out because of "unforseen circumstances". One of two reasons for this that I can think of: A. They are retarded and can't figure it out B. They found out that there may be more flying coming/leaving. Kinda leaning towards A myself.....

I would have to go with A myself.

September 1st is also the date that Mekong is requesting their guys to ship out.

ALPA says they didn't comply w/ contract requirement of 10 days from notification to bid close. Guess they can't read over there. Maybe they'll get more bidders now???

So I guess it was C then. Weren't they supposed to put out a projection prior to the close of the bid like they did last time? Would be nice to know before the bid is gonna close how things would pan out as of today because I have a feeling there's gonna be more than just 12 upgrages....

I asked the same thing. I was told that it wasn't needed because there were no displacements in this bid. I pointed out the standing bid lists shows the same peoples bids into different spots. How are we supposed to know what they prefer. The list is useless for determining what exactly will happen. A daily projection should be required for every position award.

And why on earth do they need 10 days from closing to post the bid awards? It should take 15 min!

A very damn good question, I'll make ya a program for $1,000 that'll do it automatically and it's damn near retard proof, unless a human touches it. Saves like $100,000 a year
