well, thanks for clearing that up for me. Now, sometime when I'm actually talking to you, I'll keep that in mind.

You made a blanket statement that managment was never good at ASA and I disagreed with you. Cause it was when we had competent managment.

You are by far the biggest whiny betch POS on flightinfo. You knew ASA was represented by ALPA when you hired on here. You don't like ALPA representing ASA pilots, go apply at SKYW.

VOTED IN FAVOR!

The same could be said of anyone who hired on at ASA knowing what the pay and workrules were. If you don't like the pay and workrules, go apply at SKYW.

ALPA opens a stike center at an "undisclosed location", while Skywest transfers ASA aircraft to a "disclosed location". Brilliant strategy ALPA.

If you don't like ALPA on the property at ASA go apply at SkyWest loser.

79%,

I agree with you 100%. This pilot group doesn't want a contract.

People keep bashing ALPA. It's not just ALPA that has changed...the pilot groups have changed. There is more unity and teamwork in my little boy's cub scout group than there is with this pilot group. Blows me away.

We need to give our CNC/MEC something to work with. The closed runway is knocking out half of our flights...let's take out the other half.

Write it up.
Stay off the radio.
If you feel like you have to fart...call in sick.

dude, I NEVER said ASA management wasn't good at ANY TIME. I don't believe that now either. You're off on your own little tangent here. Move on.

While you seem to think that, the majority thinks that the compnay needs to be more reasonable.
I suppose it depends on who you hang out with/talk to. We all tend to hear what we want to hear. What I hear most of the time is people who think along the same lines as myself but, I don't hang in thecrew lounge very much because I get tired of listening to people whine. Lifes tough enough without taking on everyone elses problems.

You'll hear what suits your needs most, just as I will. Thats just the nature of it. A 93% strike vote does NOT mean the majority of pilots here thinks ASA management is bad or ALPA is good. He!!, I'd have voted in favor if ALPA had not come out with what I believed was something unreasonable just before the vote was taken. In fact, I urged others to vote in favor up until that time. In the system we must operate (Union/MGMT adversaries), if you're going to take a strike vote, it must have a high % in favor to be effective.

So, all that being said, don't let 93% strike vote lead you to believe that 93% of the pilots at ASA would vote down the last offer made by MGMT. Case in point: Delta (with all the associated Flightinfo.com experts).

I agree 100% with you in every respect. We as a group have lost respect within our peers and managers eyes. We took a strike vote and passed nearly 93% in favor -WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? WHY HAVE WE NOT SET A FIRM DATE ON A WALK OUT? And for what it is worth I am really tired of people that say it has to do with the mediator, etc. etc. - It is time to push forward.

So is it ALPA's fault?

I doubt that. The majority voted to strike so that ALPA would have leverage. However, I don't think the majority agree with ALPA. If they do, then put the company proposal out for a vote. If the majority don't agree with it, they can vote it down. If ALPA doesn't let us vote on it, then they are probably afraid that it might get voted in.

Also, FWIW, I heard on the radio last night driving home that Skywest (no inc, or asa) is going to be at a big job fair in Atlanta. Things that make you go hummm...

I've heard Skywest will be flying out of ATL in December. Flying former ASA aircraft out of ATL and ALPA will continue to say it is just a bluff.

If you don't like the pay and workrules at ASA, go apply at the regional that has pay and workrules that you want. Same argument Biz.

The "proposal" that you speak of is substandard to what Skywest currently has, in almost every way. It is also below what we have now in several ways. Do you really think that it would have any chance in hell of passing?

Then let us vote, and we can find out. Some of us are concerned about our jobs.

I think ALPA is afraid of what might happen if they were to put out that proposal to a vote.
