I did the phone screen this morning. At the end, the recruiter told me she would give the information to her supervisor, and if they liked what they saw, they would send an application package within 30 days. She also told me if I did not hear from them in 30 days to keep updating my resume. Is that their roundabout way of telling me to screw off or does that sound like they might actually send something?

When I did my phone screen about a year and 1/2 ago at the end of it they told me they would send the application package out during the week. I got it about two days later. Things may have changed between then and now...not really sure.

"Poo Poo Pants"? YGBSM. We have reached a new low in the maturity level of our new hires. If you were hired, that is.

PooPoo sounds right. A friend of mine had the same experience lately. I had my phone screen back in March and have heard nothing, so I guess that should be taken as a smack down....

Somewhere in the 820's. I think I got the shaft from ASA because of lack of TT in the past 6 months, or maybe because I'm a total chode.......... one of the two I think....

got the phone call early last week, then recieved the packet at the end of the week. i have quite a bit more time than you do though. dont let it get to you just keep building time and the interviews will come.

ASA isn't calling anyone back unless you have better than 1000TT, 1200 preferred. Even if you've already had a phone screen, they're still using those numbers as discriminators. I know guys that were in the pool that haven't been called for class because they have less than 1000TT.

I sent them a resume in November (820TT, 95ME) and got a call back the next day telling me to get 5 more hours of ME and update the resume. Stupid me, I was working on my MEI at the time, so I waited. I resubmitted once I got the time and haven't heard anything back. I was then told that, although mins hadn't changed, they aren't doing phone screens unless you're closer to that 1200 mark.

BTW, that 1200 info comes from a very reliable source.

If you were an intern or come from the right scholl, you'll get the interview with less. They take a while to call back and send letters after the interview also.

The guy I was talking about ealier has about the same flight time I do (under 1000TT) and he has an interview this week...

Actually I was hired. I'm sorry that my screen name bothers you so much Mr John Pennekamp. Maybe we should all use our real names and be as professional as you. By the way, are you French? Because you seem to be a real ****************************** Bag!!!

PP pants, How long did it take them to get back to you after the interview? Any idea why it takes ASA so long with the letters/phone calls? Is it because they are doing the background check or waiting for your fingerprint/drug screening?

After the phone screening I got the app packet within a couple of days. I sent that out two days later then got called for the interview within the next week. After the interview I got a letter of conditional employment within the next week. Then it took about a month after that before I was given a class date about a month away. Yes, the whole process is a pain in the ass and takes a long time but it's been great and worth it for the most part. I'm a 2nd year FO on track to make a little over than 40k this year including per diem and usually get 14 to 15 days off. Not too bad compared to my other buddies at CHQ and XJT.

Recent experience is a big deal. I think that they want 100 hours in last 6 months if I remember right. They also prefer it to be commercial time. I know a couple of guys who had problems in that regard.

Sorry to say this but when they say they need to talk to their Supervisor that means there is a red flag that would keep her from making a desicion.

Usually its get the call get the app 2 days later via fedex and then get an interview after they get your app. The whole thing should take about 2 weeks from call to getting a interview date.

BTW not everyone at ASA is a Dick with ears like PooPoobrain.

Also got the call today ironically the same day I got the "thanks but no thanks from Pinnacle" after making it through the whole damn interview. I'm sitting at 2000 ttl time and 271 multi. So basically if she says she needs to run it by her supervisors it's a no go deal?

I was told the same thing, and recieved a packet about a week or week and a half later. I never filled it out because I recieved a offer for another job in the mean-time. So don't be discouraged, there is a good chance that you will get the packet. Who knows what critera they are using. They never really asked any unusual questions.

When did you do your phone screen?

I did not have the job when I did the phone screen. I thought I made that clear. Sorry if I didn't.

I think my post was unclear. How long ago did you do your phone screen?

not always true...can depend on certain factors, including the person who did the phone screen...

1000/100 when I submitted my resume. Some King Air SIC time (very little). I think that is what helped me though. Phone screen was done about two weeks ago and got the application in about 3 days. On the initial phone call the lady told me that I did not have the 1200/200 time that they were looking for but the fact that I had some King Air time helped out. I got scheduled for an interview but had to postpone it. She told me to update me resume and call them after next week. The fact that I worked for one of those 'Schools' especially one that they are associated with maybe got me the interview. Hope that helps out.

Who is working Hiring now? Is it still Juillie Ellis?

Not any more. She's been out of it for a while.

Someone told me Danny Robertson's involved now!

Stan Knight is doing the hiring up there now. They will consider you for an interview at 600/100 if you have some sort of advanced aircraft experience and you meet the other requirements on the website. Any glass cockpit, RJ ground schools, or sim time should be listed on your resume for ASA. I would hesitate to put that on apps to some other regionals though.

Phone Screen Process at ASA

Hello everyone, here's my gouge on phone screens. Most phone screens are reviewed by more than one person. After your resume and phone screen have been reviewed, you should receive an application packet within 30 days if everything was favorable. If not, you should continue to send updated resumes every 100 hours. Don't become anal about it and send one every hour! Or, what if you received a phone screen and after the last question, he or she says "I'll be sending out an application packet to you, you should get it in a few days." This is because: that particular interviewer has the authority to make that decision OR he/she has been told by someone who can make that decision to send an application packet to you. It's best to return the packet within 30 days or give them a phone call. They will take the time to talk to you and appear to appreciate your courtesy.
