I just heard that the min days off we took 5 years to get...our Reps just gave it back. Pilots can take themselves back to 10 days off and we got nothing in return. No negotiations, just turned it over.

That's just great. So what's the process for "bidding" to have 10 days vs. 12 days? Or is it "company discretion"? Or is it back to bid sheets taped to a pizza box? And meanwhile, we don't get 150% for open time pickups, like even our FAs do.

I swear, our MEC has hopped in bed with the company. We need fresh blood in that office.

If true, sounds like some greedy pilots got the ears of the MEC.

It used to be when that happened, they were told that the MEC benefits the greater good. It also used to be when the company wanted relief on something, there was a quid pro quo. Guess our reps just give them all what they want now. Sheet, why not give three on, three off man his request now too?

It's obvious that our reps are changing a contract that was voted on by the majority, but change it at the whim of a minority, including status reps who have kids in college! This without any advance knowledge to the pilot group, or any opportunity for other opinions on this matter.

But to not get something in return? Not even 1 1/2 for open Time pick-up? What are our reps thinking?

Hoser

Wait, wasn't there a clause already in there saying that one could pick up below min days off with the agreement of the MEC chair?

Which would be denied. DN is a hard liner. And what, is a pilot to call him every time they want to give a right away?

If DN is such a "hardliner" why didn't he convince the LEC Reps this was a bad idea and sets a precedent to change other things in the contract without any input from the ASA pilots.

Hoser.

I should have said DN *used* to be a hardliner. Until he became chairman. Then the tail began to wag the dog. I miss Bob.
